The losi is heavy and this is good for somethings, run time is not one of them.

For most tracks go with a 14T. Unless it's tight point and shoot indoor tracks, then go 13T.

Unless the track has a long straight 180ft or more stay away from a 15T on the 4600.
Damn! I meant to change that to 2S.. lol, it's actually on 2S, I just punched 4 on here, but forgot to fix my typo! lol..

I'll go weigh it in a few and let you know the exact weight, but wow... That's definitely no bueno.

*edit* It's 6.65 lbs.

You should only be using about 400-450mA per minute. Go through your truck and make sure there isn't a bearing going out. Try borrowing another motor. Maybe yours is going out. How hot is it running? You could also try the going to the HT rotor in the 4.5. That will make the motor more efficient. You'll have to gear it up though to make up for the lost kv.

Seem like a good practice pack! But at 30C rating, wouldn't you be piffing that pack with an awd truck?

When I run my CRC 5300 mAh 40c packs, my truck stutters when I punch it off the line.

That doesn't happen with my 65C~130C turnigy packs

A 8400mAh 30C softpack ?
Does that have enough oomph to power the latest & greatest powermad motors like the Revtech, Tenshock & Hobbywing ?

Yeah, I run at ROAR facilities, plus I don't trust softpack LiPo's anyway. So, thanks.. but no thanks

Plus, you shouldn't NEED a damn 8400 pack just to run a 10 minute main. That's ridiculous.

The guys are all correct though. Check for bad or sticky bearings. It doesn't take much to burn up some extra mah per minute on a track with one of these trucks.

If the motor is weak it will draw a lot more current than a good one.

I have run 10 min back in the day. Stock SCTE (pre production) and a novak motor and 5000mah battery. I did not drive it hard though. Easy on easy off throttle and rolled through the corners. LOL

Hey guys im sure you heard this over and over again but i couldnt find the answer i was looking for. I would like to get an idea on gearing. I bought the rtr version and now i am going to upgrade motor and esc. I am going with the tekin RX8 esc and the Pro 4 4600KV motor. I am running the mip chassis so i am lighter than stock. I only race and its generally on a medium sized 1/8th outdoor track (but we shorten it for the short course trucks). I would like to know where to start with pinion size. Im fairly new to electrics so i hope this dosent sound too stupid. Im pretty sure the gears are 32pitch, correct me if im wrong. If some one could please give me an idea where to start as far as the pinion goes and if there is any certain brand pinion. Also is there any thing different i will have to do to go with the Pro 4 as i understand it is a 540 motor and the stock is a 550? Thank you.

13-14T to start. Honestly, 13T is perfect just about everywhere unless the track is really big. I ran my SCTE in the 1/8 ebuggy sportsman class this weekend and I used a 13T. It was actually fairly competitive.

Chris is spot on with gearing. Also these are Mod 1 gears (metric) not 32P so make sure you get the right pinion.
