Has anyone that preordered this truck from horizon gotten a shipping notice yet? Im reading here that a bunch of you guys are expecting your cars today/tomorrow and I'm just wondering where you ordered from. I ordered direct from horizon figuring it would be the fastest way to get the car but haven't gotten a shipping notice yet.

I just want to confirm as my LHS will probably NOT have the kit wheels in the time frame I need them. Will the Proline Protrac wheels for the slash work on this truck?

They will work but they will rub a bit when you turn all the way.

Has any one tried running sc8 rims on there conversions? What 17mm hexas have you used to do this? I'm planning on being able to run this sc as a buggy also so if I can make 17mm hexas work it's one less thing to have to change.

Also what parts would I need to convert to a buggy. I can't wait to get this thing.

I need to stay off these damnable forums. I just spent $400 I don't have to buy one of these things and a few extra sets of wheels since nothing I have will now work.

I do hope the diff pins and outdrives are sorted in this production run. Now to decide which ESC to run. I have had an Xcelorin 1/10 and an MMP that have both been good to me. I haven't had any of the problems (yet?) that others have had. Running a Novak hv 4.5.

Which do you think I should run and why? (I also have a NIB Mamba Monster and a hobbywing 1/8 ESC, but those seem like they would be way heavy.

My track still stubbornly sticks to 12 minute mains and I already have to use a boat anchor of a Lipo to get through, so I want to make the rest of the truck as light as possible. Gonna start out stock though and see how she runs.

It seems Losi now has 3 axle stub options for this car. The three axle stubs are for original Ten-T 12mm hexes (B3566), the 810 17mm hexes (B3567), and the new extra narrow SCTE 12mm hexes (B3574).

Obviously you can run the 810 17mm hexes on the 810 axles, but this will make you car too wide for roar rules and I doubt the body will clear the tires. I don't think there is a 17mm hex that will fit the SCTE axles as they are pretty unusual in design. The third option is what I did. I run the Ten-T axle stubs with modified 810 17mm hexes (B3499). This gives me a 17mm hex that is as narrow as the SCTE setup for proper width.

To modify the hexes all you do is cut and then file down the extra lip on the back. You want to leave about .5mm of lip for bearing clearance.
Stock 810 hexes:

Trim the backs down to look like these:

So are the axle stubs the same on the 810, ten t, and scte? Have you tried the sc8 rims with the 17mm hex?

No, the stub axles are different on all 3 vehicles. If you runthe 810 setup on this, it will be too wide, just as an FYI.

I haven't actually seen the real SCTE axles yet, but I'm wondering if something like this would work to get the 17mm hex for 1/8 wheels and keep it legal width.
