Have the same setup, used the 2mm spacer and its hair close from hitting the bulkead but n shaving done. I experience that but i lessen the Epa and just adjust the trim and silved the prolem(note mine has not been run yet).

Its an awesome feeling isn't it Cuda? theres been plenty of people at my track buy a b4.1 and sell their 22 because they couldnt figure it out, there faster at the moment but still in my way in the track.

replaced my steering rack and my intermittent servo binding to the right hasnt come back. So anyone running a low profile servo or any servo with around 125oz. of torque beware. Think i may go to a hitec 7945 anyhow, my low profile savox doesnt seem to be fast enough for me and its annoyingly loud but i dont wanna bash on the servo, still gets the job done and looks nice.

Yeh, it's pretty nice having the rear planted all the time now.
I do however miss the steering I had with the full sized pack, could drive right to the corner and throw it in anytime any corner, drive it thru the corner but then it would just keep going and step out.
I had faster lap times with the full pack because the corner speed was so much faster, I just couldn't get the feel and hang on after the turn everytime.

When the traction is up tho, I may use the full sized pack as a secret weapon.

Only have 1 practice and 3 heat races with the borrowed short pack so my confidence is up and I expect to have a really great racecar next time out.
My battery is sitting on my bench right now waiting, thanks USPS for finally getting it here. zzzzzzzzz

I wonder how much of the difference in the battery is the length and how much is the weight. 3800mah packs are a dime a dozen in conventional sizes.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. It has been hard to justify the short pack when I have Thunder Power batteries.

Cuda....or anyone....

I haven't been keeping up with this thread and without having to go back and read seven thousand plus posts, can you tell me what a good set-up for using a regular sized 2s battery is?

I understand that the Evans set-up is the place to start using the short pack, but is the Evans set-up the best place to start with while using a regular sized 2s (5000) pack....or is there another set-up posted somewhere that everyone's using for regular packs?

What is the point of the shock pump if you run emulsion shocks?

The shorty battery is 96 mm long, vs. 139mm long for the standard and 100gr lighter.

It is 139gr lighter than a standard 5000 mah pack, I don't believe it's lighter than any other 3800 mah pack (though I haven't measured). Lower mah is how the Losi pack achieve's it's smaller size.

The smaller size allows you to place the weight where you need it, not allowable with a standard length pack. As for being lighter than other 3800 packs, I don't know either, but it is only 117gr lighter than Losi's 6000mAh packs. We use these shortys in my son's 22 and the car handles awesome.
