I believe the main issue with the rack when everybody had just laid eyes on the car was dirt/dust/small debris getting in the channel and locking the rack up. This has not been a problem and the rack has no more/less slop than any of the other cars available today. I have broken one, but it was a fairly hard hit and i was actually surprised that there was nothing else broken.

Any ideas on a good starting point for gearing with a 78 tooth spur, rs-pro, and tekin 10.5?

Thanks

I am assuming the longer link in the rear will give more rear traction? I am running 2/B and will try 1/A to help.

Ordered the front Orange springs

Will try increasing the front droop and decreasing the rear droop to help with W/T

Will try *3 of anti squat as well

Tire choice at my track is difficult at best, it also hurts that I have the desire to try every type of tire and that adds up quick.. For tires these days do most guys stick to a brand and just run there offerings ( all Losi or all PL or all JC) or is there lots of mixing and matching.
Thanks for the help guys!

I raced the car today in and was pretty happy with it..

The tight diff really helped the car accelerate rather then spin out. The 1/A gave more rear traction. and finally a change to a set of JC Barcodes (V1)

I finished 2nd today in 2WD mod main and was pretty happy with it.

I still feel the car can be quicker but overall a huge improvement from Thursday

I has an issue this weekend with mine locking up. It only happened during practice but twice locked up while turning right. Would turn left no problem but right would just lock up. I was running on a very loose and dirty (Step pin/goosebump) track. I cleaned it out and things seemed fine the rest of the day. Is there a type of armorall or "slick" coating that doesn't collect dust that might help?

Anyone come up with a "Low Traction" setup or hints (things to try) yet?

Also can someone explain what Dustin's setup has when it refers to the
"Wing/Wickerbill: 5mm wickerbill" ?

Ruffy, I think the wickerbill is the amount of the wing that is perfectly vertical at the back side. I have poorly marked the picture below.

Thank-you.
On another note, has anyone had problems with the personal transponders (the new mini RC4 AMB one) not counting well or weak signal to the laptiming system?
This past weekend my car would count 1 out of every 6 laps. It is mounted just in front of the 96mm battery, on the chassis with double side foam tape.

Edit* I just found this , in case anyone else has an issue.
Weak Signal:
The signal from the Transponder is screened by aluminium or carbon fibre. Graphite and plastic will not screen the signal. If you are experiencing a weak signal from your Transponder (Race Control/Timekeeper will be able to advise you if this is happening) you should review the position of the transponder. Assuming the loop is under the track, the PT should be mounted as low as possible. It should be mounted with the printed side (with the power LED) facing either up or down as the signal is directional. If you mount it on its side the strongest signal will be directed away from the loop. If your chassis is aluminium of carbon fibre you should mount the transponder above the chassis and at the edge so the transponder can "see" the loop.

I have the same transponder. I mounted mine right on top of my servo right on the Spektrum logo (model 6040). I have no problems!

I did see sketchy problems on a friends car way back when he had dirt in his receiver and the plug didn't get pushed all the way down.

Good luck!

First run yest with the 22 on a rough and rutted track. No broken parts. Stock diff still feels great! Handled pretty well with the kit setup. Only thing I did was switch to Orange front springs. More wheel time with some better tires in rear and I see good results in future.
