I've found on higher bite indoor clay tracks in the winter that I get more steering with the open cell foam. The closed cell deadens the front end, takes away steering, and smooths the car out. All depends what you're looking for!

what are the tabs on the esc plate for? routing wires? I had to cut them off for my esc to fit, so i was just curious.

yeah, rear motor config. I am using a HW v2.1 esc and it is kinda wide. So I cut them off.

Guys what parts should I get as a crash kit? Which ones typically need replacing due to crash/failure?
Rear arms and maybe servo mounts because they strip easy. I'd pick up some spare countersunk screws as well and replace at the first sign of wear.

I have had my 22 for almost 2 years now. Breakage is pretty minimal..
In this time i have run weekly on ozite, clay and astroturf
DNF type breakages?
-2 rear arms
-front arm after front end lane crossing crash on carpet
-wings lol like i change my under wear!
worn parts that i have picked up on during inspections
-bent front shock retainers(shocktower mount hardware)
-stripped servo mounts from the top side.
-replaced worn suspension components over time.. just to reduce slop
Really the car has been bullet proof.
I have most of the alloy bits just because i love the car so much i cant help but dress it up.. But the must have parts i feel are:
-front and rear inner camber link mounts
-rear alloy hubs
-servo mount
I have slowly started getting the caster blocks because they look sexy and are easier to identify the degree markings over the black plastic ones.
My guilt over spending so much is starting go go away as i now have the SCT which i can share some parts with and im crossing my fingers that one day soon ill be using them on a TLR44

I am sure the TLR upgrade parts are nice, but after doing some reading and research, I noticed that no one seems to make upgrade parts for the TLR 22. No hexes, no camber blocks etc. I cant help wonder why? The car has been around 2+ years now and is very popular. But aside from after market battery trays, the market seems like a void for after market.

Thats because the car already comes with everything it needs! It already has hexes, camber blocks etc... it isn't a bandaid car like the B4 has been since .1 came out. In Florida it is one of the most popular cars to drive due to being very smooth and "untwitchy" making for a more enjoyable racing experience.

Also TLR produces all the great alloy parts.. They brought them out very quickly after the 22 release. Perhaps cutting the aftermarket guys out at the knees?
The TLR alloys have been top shelf

thats smart and tlr upgrades are outstanding quality and match the color of the other parts

While it is a nice car, it does not come with all of the tuning options, like all of the rear toe blocks, all the different rear hex widths, etc. Most of the TLR stuff is not priced too bad. But $18 for a pair of hexes is a bit high. I did find some hexes from Hot Racing. But i have heard that in general their quality is crap.
