I'm at the same crossroad as you. An Aluminum or try another CF... The stock towers are cheap stamped aluminum and I was thinking the beefier TLR aluminum towers might be better for the front. I think they'd be quite a bit stronger than the CF ones and might resist bending more than the stock.

Reading this thread for kicks and might as well chime in for you on the machined aluminum towers since I own a set, and have for over a year.

They've been awesome and extremely durable on my SCTE. They were previously on my Ten-T and took some seriously hard big crashes on an 8th scale track with huge jumps and haven't bent or broken yet.

So far they're 1/8th scale durable.

...I bent the stock ones in a week.

I'm sure that, had the CF been on my TEN-T or on an SCTE, they wouldn't have broken either. The issue is that, on buggies, the front tower is exposed. Miss a jump and the tower generally takes the full brunt of the ground. Ultimately, them being exposed is what caused the breakage, not the awkard landings.

Yeah, I somehow misread that... durability on a truck is different from a buggy.

Hey guys I've got a question here. I have a Ten-T and I want to run a Castle 1410 on 2s. The Ten-te thread doesn't seem to have anyone running that motor so I'll ask here. Is there a big difference in weight and rotational mass from the 810e to a Ten-te? I see there has been people running the 1410 towards the beginning of this thread with no issues. I've got the Losi 320 size wheels and tires not the stock tires if that helps anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated. One last thing what pinion should I start with?

True enough, although I did bend the stock ones really easily.

Also keep in mind that the machined towers for the TEN are the exact same material and thickness as the ones that the 8ight buggy uses. I don't see many people having issues with them bending or breaking at my local track on the 8ight buggy.

If they're the same aluminum and same thickness as the 8ight towers then YES they would work well. Thanks.

There really isn't much of a difference in weight between the two and the 320 tires seem to weight a hair under 1/8th buggy tires. I don't have a scale to measure to get exact numbers.

Pinion would depend on what Kv motor you decide to run. I found that 15 on my CC 151 works well. So i'd recommend running that first.

I bent the stock ones too. They are made out of a very cheap aluminum and don't hold up well.

Does anyone make an after market carbon fiber chassis for the 810?

I think I saw one while I was on the SNR site.

Maybe it was listed as a Ten-T chassis?

SNR makes one. You have to email directly and ask for it. Same price as the scte chassis.

Yeah, was just on the site and found the SCTE chassis. If I really like the way mine drives, I may consider a carbon chassis.
