I would post the bodies up in the for sale section. Then purchase bodies to fit your B44. Or, if there are any local racers who run the B44.1 see if they are interested in the bodies.

I have seen a few put the body on a 44 and cut the front way back, but it kinda looks weird because the undertray comes out from under the body.

ok so here is my next question, what else is affected by the different chassis? Are all the other parts compatible as far as drive train and stuff like that?

OK. I spoke with Maifield last night. He told me the set up sheet does not tell you that he used a #2 or #3 piston in the rear shocks and drilled out the existing holes with a #54 drill bit. The #54 is slightly smaller than the #1.

44.1 body on the original 44 chassis will require that you dremel material off the chassis on the front. You will need to scrap the 44 undertray. The length isn't the problem, it's the angle of the chassis in the front.

The $229 is for the B44 not the B44.1, still a great deal though. Thinking about picking one up!

No biggie, a guy I race with told me about the deal at A Main that's why I knew it was the B44 not the .1 Hard to beat that price though for a car that is still at the top of its game.

What size screws are needed for the B4 wing mount modification? For the battery post and especially for mounting the wing mount itself? It would probably be a good idea to use as long screws as possible.

If you use the B44 modified mounts, 5/8" screws are good and you need a 21mm spacer to bridge the gap between the mounts. Not sure on the B4 mounts. I think the modded B44 mounts work a little better since the wing mounts at least sit on the rear tower mount. The B4 mount mod just hangs off the back of the car with no vertical support. Plus you don't have to buy B4 wing mounts to do it mod, they probably aren't that much though... I posted some pics a couple pages back.

You don't have to use a battery post. Any aluminum tube with 4/40 threads or 3mm threads will do. I use a cut down 1/8 radio tray post for mine.

It seems that at least Neil Cragg had a similar modification at the worlds:

A main had the 44 for $219 a few weeks ago. I had to pick one up for indoor. It came with some updated parts. V2 slipper and .1 top deck with the front antena mount. I don't mind the old shocks so it wad a no brainer for me. By the time I put some updates on it I still won't have the price of the .1. So I'm happy..lol
