B44.1 Thread
#2806
Not sure what I'm doing with mine. If I keep it (this fall has sucked, I barely have time to race, 4wd buggy even less) I'll probably upgrade it one chunk at a time starting with the suspension.
I might sell it and see if -
(a) I get more time to race after the 1st of the year
(b) the class picks up a little with the 44.2 intruduction + Xray buggy + Losi buggy (hopefully)
If either (a) or (b) or both happen I'll pick up a 44.2.
Hard to sell, its a fun a$$ car to drive.

runtime should be fine..as long as you aren't trying to run 12+minute mains, though wheelers are powerful they're light and don't use crazy amounts of Mah from batteries

And that's where it should be.
Just like all the guys posting V2 shocks for sale, STOP POSTING THAT YOU HAVE THIS STUFF FOR SALE! We have a FS section for a reason, the next guy gets 7 days off.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has tried the front aluminum carriers(part# ASC9721) for the b44.1? Are they useful performance wise, and not just for durability?
I was considering getting them, but with the price, I wanted to be completely sure. :/

There is no real need for them. Don't waste your money on them unless you like BLING. The best three upgrades are Ballast weight, Big bores, and Triad slipper.

Ah, ok, thank you so much Chaser.
. I was stressing over it since I do like to have a little bit of aluminum on my cars to have them look nice, but I finally got my b44.1 to the spec that I wanted it to be for a while since I am going to be racing soon.
Now I just gotta save up for the upgrades that come with the b44.2.
I was also considering getting the front aluminum tower mount, but I didn't want to stiffen the car up too much since I'll be racing mostly outdoor.
Would the front aluminum tower mount be a good upgrade? Or is it just another part to add a little bit of weight and stiffen up the front?

I added the Al Fr brace to mine, as well as the rear one and the new JC wing mount. I figured the rigidity would help. I don't think the weight is THAT significant IMO. Just make sure that you use a drop of Threadlock (Or in my case Clear nail polish) on the screws going thru it.
I haven't added any ballast weight, but then again, I've only run a couple times and our local indoor clay track is closing down. Racing here is up in the air.
I got SUCH a screaming deal on mine, I probably will just go for the upgrades and not a complete car. Talked to some who like the Std. bore shock but with the Avid/Kyo/Los BB spring upgrade, so I might try those. Lots depend on local racing and what happens there.

Okay you guys, here's a loaded question. I'm looking to buy a new mod motor for the b44.1, most likely a 6.5, I'd typically go with a fantom, but also considering an lrp....does anyone have any recommendations? I also have a new speed passion reventon pro coming. Should I try that in the buggy instead of my tekin rs pro?

let me know how you like that Reventon. I am using a GT 2.0 in my 44.1 and am considering the upgrade when i have the $$. I have never ran the Tekin personally, I've driven other friends who have it and I like the smoothness of the SP stuff.
