Got some runs in after picking up the Avid spring sets. I've only tried purple front / white rear per a recommendation from a racer, but my initial impressions were good. The car seemed more nimble, tons of traction, and felt more point and shoot like. This was with the stock kit piston set up, 35 front 30 rear AE oil. Looking forward to trying out some different colors of the Avid springs to see if I find something I prefer or works even better for me.

I LOVE MY B44.1!!!! Took it out today on low to med grip track , took a little to figure it out but I LOVE it.

hahah I dont have that much time on my hands. I havent gone over the setup on mine and it is dialed. I dont want to change a thing except maybe add a bit more timing for more speed and Id like to try out the avids to see if they are even better the losi bb's I have now.

Yes kyosho , apparently they are the beez knees only problem is is they are pricy , unless you buy them directly from Japan and they are about $9 a pair.

I run the K-springs with Losi pistons. Shock feel awesome.

Im going to get my daughter the b44.1 and was wondering if there were any upgrades i should get right off the bat. She is pretty new to the hobby with only about 6 months of light raving under her belt. I need this thing to be very durable so im not too worried about weight at the moment, plus i think i can compensate for the weight with a better motor. I am going to be putting a tekin setup in it with savox servos. Ant input would be great, Thanks

How old is your daughter? I would never let my 8 yo son drive mine, that's why he has a sct.

I gotta be honest; sounds like this isn't the car you want. This car is fast (obviously depending upon motor choice) and somewhat fragile, with a bigger learning curve to drive it well.

tmo420 07-02-2012 04:16 PM

She is 11. She has been driving the t4 but wanted to get her something better. It's not like I'm letting her take my losi lol

rigor 07-02-2012 04:22 PM

I suggest a modified B4.1 over B44.1 .

More maintenance, more complex to drive well, you're going to break more parts learning to drive it, and a lot of places don't carry many parts for it unless It's real popular in your area (seems like It's not at most).

This has been my experience with the car the past few months. A mod 2wd is going to be a pretty big upgrade from a stock truck.

vw addict 07-02-2012 04:26 PM

What's wrong with the T4? Is she racing or just getting laps in? I would suggest getting her a used B4.1 and letting her hone her skills with a 13.5. If she can drive that she will be able to drive anything.

tmo420 07-02-2012 04:27 PM

I have has the b4 and thought it drove like a sack of potatoes. Tmy lhs carries plenty of parts and the t4 is far from stock. I do understand what you are saying though. Maybe I'm pushing for the b44 so I can drive it too....lol

Nothing is wrong with the t4. She doesn't like the way it drives. She says its too twitchy.
