buy the parts to make the bigbore springs work, or save money, Wait fo rAssociated big bore shock kits to be relased. (which they are working on for all the rest of the 1/10th scale cars, (sc10 4x4 already has them).

Amainhobbies prices:

Losi spring cup set $7.29
Traxxas collars $5.58
Losi springs rear $4.59
Losi springs front $4.59

Equals $22.05

You can convert your shocks now and enjoy the benefits for less than the price of going to the movies!

Avid collars just came out as well. My LHS got em Wednesday this week. They screw and bolt on over the stock AE collar. I like em.

You don't need the Losi spring cups, the ones that come with the Traxxas collars fit fine with a minimal amount of grinding so they fit over the stock AE shock ends.

Something like this:

GHEA 2070 BB spring collars.

Or the Avid versions:

For spring cups the Losi 22 or the Durango BB spring cups fit.

My B44.1 really needs this!!!!!!
$28! I don't need to lower my wing that bad. I was hoping for plastic. The way I drive that aluminum wing mount would be absolutely destroyed in one race weekend

Default Ass end sitting down

Ok guys, a question from left field. I've been racing the B44.1 for a few months now, Is it comon for the rear suspention in these things to not have a lot of spring back ? I'm still running stock setup, but the ass end sits down, and if you push down on it, it doesn't spring back very high, not even to level arms if it is just sitting there. It handles fine imo. When you brake hard the ass end doesn't try climbing up, it stays pretty level. The front ent moves up and down freely, but the ass end stay's pretty nuetral. Is this fairly common. Just wanna know if I should be trying to fix something, or winding the collars down a bit. What of it's driving characteristics would this be affecting. In my mind, if I got the ass end to be a bit more springy by wind down the collars it might allow for a bit more on power steering before understeer kicks in.

Now I think of it this was pretty silly question. Was set in my head that I wasn't going to change any settings until I was happy with my driving and that my ability matched what the stock setup had to offer. While reading the manual again, I read that the ride height should be adjusted to suit once the suspention had settled. So my next question is - is this adjustment always going to need tweeking further and further down the older the springs get, and is there a point that the springs are sprung and should be replaced. And if I broke a shock shaft and lost a spring, would I have to replace both springs so that they had the same spring characteristics.

This should also explain why I have worn the inside of the rear tires first, and correcting the ride height should see the set camber be operating in it's desired position and give me a more even wear across the tire.

Make sure nothing is binding if all looks good then run the collars down, i have my ride height set to 20mm in the back and when i drop it the back rebounds back to arms level.

first of all take you'r Wheels and shocks out.
and check thet the Suspension go very freely without any jammed...
if its all free, then check the shocks,Probably you need to change the oil if you didnt do that for few months, the shock oil burn out with alot of dirt in it.
that's make the shock work's not proper.
another thing, Always check the Ride height with ride height gage.

I take a family of 4 to the movies for less than that, And thats new releases.

Well true for the parts for going BB springs, But some people lookng for big bore shock bodies, and associated is working on full bb shocks kits for the rest fo the 1/10th scale line up.

Are you running the ballast weight? I recently took some tuning advise from another local who's car was quite dialed, and I prefer the car w/o it... At least for now, and on my local tracks with lots of jumps.

Anyone have a direct contact to STRC, I have a broken steering rack and only need a single part and don't want to order another complete kit.

It's going on 2 weeks with multiple attempts at contacting on their site and at customer service at strc.com

Still NO REPLY...

Anyone double up the rear shock tower ? Is it even possible with the way the rear the rear shock mount braces into the rear gear box ?

Pretty certain why sustained damage and consequently broke after getting a good hit from a SC driver not paying attention
