Default Shocks

Just got up to the shock building stage and opened the bag to find the shocks were already built (without oil and caps). Do we take it that these have been assembled correctly, and with care and just add oil, or do we pull them apart and start from scratch? Interested in your thoughts.

Some guys take them apart. I left mine alone and just added oil. Never had a problem.

I just installed new pistons, filled with oil, and haven't had any issues.

Don't get me wrong, the Mugen is a nicely engineered car, but what material advantage does it give you over the RC8Be? I see that the front end uses a pillow-ball setup, which is nice, but other than that, it appears to a very similar layout and design as the RC8Be.

I'm still wondering if someone like Durango, Mugen, or AE is going to try a saddle pack style 8th scale electric.

What about durability and wear between the two?

That's pretty close to optimal operating temperature. I think Billy had quoted Randy as saying they could "handle" 200 degrees. But obviously not continuously.

I can't find the post now, but I recall Randy saying that 180F is about as hot as he'd like to see continuously on a Tekin T8 motor.
