If Im not mistaken, the gear that comes with the mamba combo is a .8 mod, you need a 1.0 mod pinion for the rc8be. Now if you used the one that came with the car kit, then it was probably your mesh, you only need a little play between the spur and the pinion and make sure to check the gap at 0, 90, 180 and 270 deg.

The Mamba does not come with a mod 1 gear. That gear that it came with is for REVO that why it so noisy.

gettin good run times with my 2650 mah and rx8/1400 combo.gettin 12 min easy, havent went all the way to lvc but at 12 mins i show 15% on my charger so that is good enough for the 10min mains we run around here. the lighter weight of the buggy is awsome. have to run the short wheel base to keep a lil more weight on the rear but i am going to try 553 diff set up vs the 575 i have now.

SNRSCION- hope you got some more chassis's about ready. I will have some money to blow on the 25th!

Is anyone running the 50t spur on the buggy? I am running 46/16 in mine right now and it feels like it has too much torque (wheelies) and lacking top end with a Tekin RX8 2050 combo. I was thinking of going like 50/18 or 46/17. Which would be better?

You're undergeared a few teeth. You should be more like 44/18 or 44/17 if you have 208 software and are running ~10 deg dynamic timing. Assuming you're running on a medium to large track.

With this setup you need to be about a 46/20-21 to get the performance you are looking for.

I have same setup, you need to run 46/18-20 depending on application

What servo should I be looking for to steer one of these? Would like to keep it in the $50 range. Initial thought was a Hitec HS-645MG, anything wrong with the servo in this buggy?
