Thanks Tanous,
I was looking at putting in a Velineon 3500.
That motor and ecu can 3s that is why for the larger battery hold down.
That would be the reason for the shaft being to long.

I use the second ones myself and love them. Never had a motor loose mesh using them.

Same here, I use #2 on both my SC10 and B4.1. They work great.

I bought 2 pairs of Fat Boy's in 1998 or whenever it was that they came out and they've been great. I can see how the newer ones would be better where space is an issue. I didn't even know they existed, thanks

I'm in the market for a new servo for my b4.1. I'm looking for something under $50. What is the best one for by criteria?

You'll want something with at least 100oz/in of torque and around .12 sec./60* transit time. A servo is one of those purchases that you can make one of two ways: 1) save some money now by buying a less expensive servo and then upgrading to a better (= more expensive) servo later, or, 2) waiting a little longer to buy a better servo now and saving a little money in the long run. Your call I always try to take option 2.

Savox makes good servos for a little cheaper than the other guys. Folks talk about the 1257 and 1258 quite a bit on here. I've got a 4096 in my B4 that I love.

Just save a little bit more money and get yourself a 1257TG. They're about 65 new. You can probably catch a used one in the F/S section for around $50. Beware, the Savox servos consume a lot of power and don't like some Rx/ESC combos so you may need a glitchbuster capacitor. Works fine on Airtronics/Novak Havoc Pro SC and Tekin RX8 combos though.

I use the 1257 in my 2 and 4 wheel drive buggy and the 1258 in my SC10s. They are great servos, but they do require alot of power. I run a cap on all vehicles just to be safe.
