i have a set of v2 shocks with losi big bore springs but was looking for some options in springs. do you have to buy each set seperately or do they offer a racing kit like for the scte spring set?

Thinking of putting my esc down inside the battery tray. How can I protect the esc from the battery besides the foam pads? or are the pads enough?

I would recommend the associated big bore springs they come in kits and avid makes big bore springs that come in kits. Both work very well.

Well, there are several different BB spring options available from a bunch of different companies. Some offer sets, some only individual pairs. Really instead of asking you should just search on amain. Is it really that hard?

It really depends. The vast majority of forces exerted on the battery are going to cause it to want to move forward. So if your ESC is behind the battery just a foam pad should be enough, but if the battery hits the ESC hard enough it could break the double sided tape loose, or damage the ESC. On the contrary, if your track follows ROAR rules, there is a rule stating vehicles must be able to fit a battery that is the size of the maximum dimensions without reconfiguring the car. If it were me in this situation, and the track didn't care, I would build some brackets that bolt into the battery tray, and go about my business. If they did care about the rule, I would just build a shelf like on the 22, or how Ty Tessman did for the Reedy Race this year.

i did and i understand but i have a pair of losi so was gonna get more of those but per the suggestion will probably just get the team associated set. i was just making sure i hadn't missed a set of losi springs as i own a set for the scte and it would only make sense to sell them in buggy

Can anybody tell me what size bearings to use with the hex front spindles?

Gene158 11-25-2012 08:00 PM

What's a good steering servo to use in this buggy?

Depending on your spending. For around $70 or cheaper if found used... I recommend the savox 1257TG. Its fast and plenty torque for this 1/10th scale buggy.

Thanks, the track really doesn't follow the Roar rules to a T. (lots of 22's running shorty's)
I have a shelf made from a piece of carbon fiber that will bolt on top of the u-brace. Now that I look at it closer, I'm thinking of milling out the rear pad and putting the shelf below the u-brace :tire:

Well did you ever clean the Triad pads and plates with motor spray, and then assemble the slipper without touching any of the working surfaces? Fingerprint contamination on your slipper is very real. I always assemble my slippers completely clean, and without touching the working surfaces and I have yet to have a slipper not work the way I want. A clean slipper is a happy slipper.

yeah, dont eat fryed chicken when building a traid

There is nothing wrong with a 22 running a shorty, basically you cant bolt something into the battery tray that wont allow a standard full size pack to fit right in.
