I reamed a hole that went behind the servo and routed the servo wire in through the battery tunnel. To help ensure the battery wouldn't pinch the servo wires I used a cut-off wheel to dremel a channel for the servo wire to go along the inside of the battery tunnel.

Other than that I just use an X-acto blade to apply just the tiniest little specs of CA onto the chassis to hold down the wire. It's just enough to hold it down but can still be easily pulled up if needed .

I'm running the big SC foam up front and three smaller foams in back. I think the smaller ones are the B4.1 foams?

I got these at Home Depot for about $8 or $9. A must if you're going to be punching holes in your closed cell foams as well.

Is there a pattern to which you need to punch the holes?

How quiet is your transmisson? I know that is tough to say, but my brother bought a b4.1 Ready to Run, which has the gear diff and it is so quiet compared to my worlds car. I just built the car in august but i took the transmission apart to inspect and clean it. It did quiet down some but still not close to the rtr.

I've checked and checked my pinion and spur mesh but no matter how i set the mesh it still doesn't quiet it down.

I made sure that the diff bolt was backed off 1/8 turn from full compression.

Any thoughts, or is the gear diff simply that quiet.

I can't believe how fast the RTR is compared to my 13.5...

Try replacing the top shaft. It seems like someone tracked their transmission noise to an improperly machined topshaft before.

Everytime I do a diff rebuild I replace the main diff gear and idle gear. Every two rebuilds I replace the topshaft. I also place four dabs of white lithium grease on the teeth of diff gear. Another thing to check would be the straightness of the motor plate.

+1 to lithium grease on the gear.

Looks like a new ballcup Jason is testing. Looks really beefy and appears to have a second hole. Possibly to lock the ballcup onto the ballstud?
