+1

I might actually gear just 1 tooth steeper at 87/23 but it would be better to start at 21 or 22 and then go from there. Are you going to boost the motor or add timing?

Actually, even for outdoor you may not need any boost with a 10.5.. It should have enough power/torque for everything in a T4. You might try 10-20 and see what works from there Make sure you watch the temps when you DO boost it so you can find a good middle ground on it.

Default aluminum front bulkhead set screw size?

Hello, I need some help with a aluminum front bulkhead (#7990). Does anyone know the set screw size or even better a part number for replacement set screws?

Four 4-40 x .093" set screws

Try ace hardware.

Default aluminum front bulkhead set screw size

I searched the AE site for the set screws and could not find them. I found that a bit strange so I called them. The size of the set screws are 5/40x1/8, part#3862.

I got my info from here:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...7990&search=Go

Also check here:

http://www.robotmarketplace.com/prod...7092_parta.pdf

Step#11 for part number verification

Step#20 for set screw size verification.

Thanks, but from your references of #11 & 20 thats the rear of the truck that's not even a T4.1. or to do with the front alum bulkhead. The tower hobbies do use the sizes you gave me, but I think AE information and part # is what Im going to use. I was not trying to debate you or try to say you are wrong just guide the next person who might ask this question to a part# to make it easier on them.

he was refering to the GT2 manual, in which steps #11 and #20 are correct. They list them as 4-40 set screws but I get nothing on Tower for the part number (7382) listed in the manual. Either way you don't NEED the set-screws, the pin is captured by the front brace and the hinge pin screw in the a-arm..I would go with what AE told you to order..

Hmm, good point the pins should stay with those two options. This is my sons truck, so I was trying to take all the precautions I can. He is kinda rough on things.

Default Stock motor sucks. Looking for suggestions to upgrading my motor. Thanks!

Here is what I got:

All stock RC10T4.1 brushed RTR with a Reedy 17 turn motor that sucks majorly.

I am looking into getting a Velineon 3500 kv Brushless Motor 10-turn. It is $159.99 at Tower Hobbies and it also comes with a Velineon VXL-3s ESC. I will be running 2s lipos.

Just wondering if that is a good deal for an upgrade. Not trying to get top of the line stuff. The RC10T4.1 is for my daughter. Also if anyone has a better suggestion for a motor I'd greatly appreciate it.

Yesterday my Gf, daughter and I went out to go bashing at a bmx track. My gf and daughter each drive a RC10T4.1 and I drive an RC8be. Once we arrived my daughter got upset with me that I didnt charge her battery cause her car was really slow. Making a short story shorter, it wasnt her battery it was her motor. We Literally had to kick the tail end to get the car moving.

You do realize that aluminum bulkhead is from a GT2 and it works on a T4 which is why i showed you the GT2 manual. and step# 20 is the front of the truck. look again.

Page#4 step 11 (shows picture of bulkhead and PART #)
Page #5 step 20 (notes screw size)

goodluck with your 5/40 screws
