It seems to be binding just because the steering "posts" are rubbing against the chassis. Am I missing something or is there something in the future steps that allow me to unbind the rack? Whatever it is, something doesn't seem right.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. For me, it was because I forgot to put the tiny washers under the rack. They're hard to see in the instruction manual. I suggest you take yours apart and carefully rebuild it, making sure you have all of the washers on there.

The washers are extremely thin too. I couldn't believe that such a tiny part prevented such heavy binding.

I dont know man ill look at mine when I get home and try nad figure out what the deal is. Are you positive its the steering rack and not the spindles binding or a bad servo? I assume you have disconnected the turnbuckles and servo to check for the bind in those components already??
Figured it out. one of the horns was upside down.. DOH!

Thanks for the help though wheelman and mdowney.

If you have the .2 washers underneath the posts and you still having a binding feel, just continue to build it as when you put the top deck on, it will free up. I think sometimes the chassis is not completely flat, but it gets squared up when you put the top plate on. If it's a LOT of binding then you have a problem somewhere. If it just feels a bit rough then the top plate will fix it.

If it binds at full lock, then you need to trim the ball cups where they hit the diff cases.

Been getting creative with my 2 and 4 wheel rebuilds. I should be done by middle of next week still working out some final issues. Here is a sneak preview.

I know where that motor mount os from, but where did you find the red shock adjusters for the Big Bores? I know they make all of the red parts for the standard velvets, but not the Big Bores.

I dont believe it will fit, if you look where the shaft bearing sits, the opening on the bottom is narrower on the red version than the blue one. I think the entire assembly is narrower.

Let us know if it does though

Why is the ZX-5 FS2 no longer listed at online shops such as Stormer Hobbies and A-Main Hobbies?

Does anyone know why they have stopped carrying the car?

With those initial measurements annotated in that link to new FS2, it may equate to being 10mm shorter in length and 2mm shorter in wheelbase than our current kit platform. Everything else looks to be the same for technical specifications. Look forward to seeing what will be needed to convert current to the new platform.
