I know I may not get anything exact for my set-up but a good starting point would be very helpful. I will be using a 2s battery and run at a small indoor dirt track (S&N Trackside in Milwaukee).

Thanks

Thank you very much Randy!

I take it the other settings like Limiter, Neutral Width,Throttle Profile and start and end RPM are all personal preferences?

This is what I love about Tekin, support from the man himself.

Thanks again.

Yeah pretty much. I'm using 80 on the current limiter most of the time with 212. There's simply plenty of power with these motors if they're geared right. Our Sc4x does like a bit taller gearing than the other 550's out there.

I'll have some more setups posted shortly for 4wd SCT setups

Randy, I'm running the 5.5 in the Losi Ten t with 16/43 right now on 2s. I only have 5 timing right now. I would have thought the truck would have been a bit faster. What will adding more timing do and whats a safe level?

XXXDad will know better but I think you are way under geared for the ten-t.

I am on an extremely small track with my ten-SCT and Iam running 18. I woud say get a 20 and go from there. With this motor and an ESC with timing options one pinion can cover a pretty big range. You can turn the endbell for more or less static timing. Then If you want more you can add more in the ESC. If you want to get fancy you can add a timing ramp so you can have the low end punch and great top end. Check your temps often when doing this.

I m sure Randy can answer better about how much is to much but, I have personally ran mine with the endbell all the way up and another 20* on the ESC with no issues, but I was only doing speed runs. I only ran it up and down the road 5 times. If you get bad cogging you went to far.

I think you're undergeared still. The Losi Ten has a super low internal diff ratio so you really can't compare it to the other SCT trucks.

What I did originally to find my gearing was setup the Timing advance to 50 on the esc, 0 motor timing and start gearing up until the speeds and snap are good. Then adjust the esc for that "little bit" extra.

I'm running a Losi 8E 43T spur not the RCM 52 tooth.

Thanks Randy, I'll try this. I also think my batteries may be getting on the old side and just not performing as well anymore.

randy, I am having some major stutter with my 4.5. I had the same issue with the hv4.5. I put a cap on and it helped a little but not enough. This is with a MMP until I get my RX8s in. I bought the SC4X hoping it would eliminate the need for the cap. Its actualluy much worse now. It will stutter badly then go. Any help you can offer? Or maybe help me diagnose it?

What kind of batteries are you running? Have you made any adjustments to your MMP?
