New Tekin SC4X Motors

Anyone from Tekin care to fill us in on some specs such as voltage limit and power / current ratings, specifically the 4.5t option

Are there plans to release a new esc for these motors to be matched with or will the RX8 be the preferred option for SC 1/10 vehicles

Cheers

The RS or RS Pro is ample for the SC class. You won't need Tekin ti do up another ESC for this.

I wouldn't push the RS that hard, the RSpro, or RX8 will be perfect:nod:

my only question is are the new motors two pole or four pole?

co'mon tekin, enlighten us

for the money and since these vehicles are pretty big compared to say a 2wd buggy, I would just go for the RX8 as its cheaper than the RS Pro and I am assuming since its built for 1/8 usage, should handle the load even better than the Pro. That is assuming the RX8 has no issues running these motors on 2S.

These are 2 pole motors. RS Pro, RX8 will run them. This motor will rip your 4WD SC trucks around. Lol...sorry sound like a robot this morning...

good to see more 550 size motors. hopefully roar will realize this really is the size motor for 4x4 sct and change the rules. :tire:

ROAR has been working to establish specs with all the Affiliate Mfgs. As more mfg complete R&D, and various field test - a set of construction parameter can be published.

Randy is probably out of the loop for a day or so traveling to an event this week.

This is good news Tekin....

no only if they would release the iphone app!

This is great news. I have the HV4.5 in my Jammin and a friend just put on in his Slash 4x4 and these trucks just tear up tires with them. I couldn't see using 540 motors. I ran 120 deg with 90 deg ambient and stock gearing. The 540 would have fried.

Now Tekin launches the the SC4X 550 motor that is lighter and I'm sure has the same Tekin features and quality. Well Done. I may have to rethink my plans for upgrade.

I just got a Ballistic but I would sure like to have one of those beautiful red cans in my Hyper, I'm clicking my heels to get one.

The new SC4X motors are built with the same high quality materials and performance as the Readers Choice Winning Redline 1/10 motors. We also think they look pretty good:D

The SC4X can be used with the Rx8 or the RSpro, or any brand esc that can deliver the power. Can be used sensored or sensorless, but we think performs best with the Dual Mode in the Tekin controllers that use sensors to start the motor and sensorless to run.

We DO NOT consider this a 1/8 scale motor. This motor is specifically designed for the PRO4 class and lighter vehicles running on 2S lipo. 3S is not a problem and even 4S is technically fine, but this is not the right answer for 1/8 scale so why mess with it? We have a T8 motor line specifically for 1/8 that does an excellent job.

Will you be selling them in combos with RSPro ESCs? Wouldn't the RS work ok too?

no, the RS can't supply the amperage that these motors draw.
