it is a 6.5 in that truck my buddy has the 4.5 we took 1 & 2 at the local track today. another friend of mine was running a 4.5 on 3s lipo and that was retarded fast but he broke a arm and took last

not sure if they are going to make the 6.5 yet? they are still testing and they loaned it to me to beat up and tell them what i thought of it

on the 6.5 i am running a 18 Th. pinion 2s lipo haven't tried throwing any timing at it yet but, will tuesday at practice i love the 6.5 but our track is small only 130 foot straight me and the guy running the 4.5 were pretty even only cuz he wasn't able to get in it without spinning out! on a bigger track 5.5 & 4.5 would be better probably? IDK tho im going to thow a boat load of timing and turbo in it and we'll see

with that much power, one bad landing and your going to brake something. makes no sense to run a 3s but if you are testing it out way not then

Pretty good start for the SC4x!

We really expect these motors to run best in Dual mode with about 50 to 80% on the timing slider.

It has to work in sensored only also because that is all some controllers can do.... So maybe a little boost with a high rpm range so it does not kick in too early and set the motor at 0deg. The higher winds should react better to this than the 4.5 will. In all cases the key is to not add the timing too early in these very heavy cars so we are not shifting from 1st to 3rd under load.

We think the 6.5 and even a 7.5 are going to be very useable. Some like the crazy rip, but all of us get beat in mod 2wd truck and buggy at times by guys running stock motors which tells us something. Typical that people start with a ton of power and raw speed and then work their way back down on power and actually turn fast laps.

the 4.5 on 3s is STUPID FAST!!!! all for testing, i tried to run it at the track today but like RCX stated i broke the front arm, probably from testing earlier this week. Anyhow with temps in the mid 130s after a 10 min run on 3s geared 13/46 I have no doubt these motors are all they are cracked up to be and then some!!
MAJOR props to TEKINPREZ and TY for letting us local boys give them a ripfest and abuse test.

more pics to come !!

Perhaps now is a good time to tel us some specs of the 6,5 and 7,5. What are the KV ratings and power ratings? Also of the 4,5 and 5,5 please...

Questions??

Will the 4.5 or the 5.5 work with the Novak GTB ... enough power to push the motor or will it just burn up??

Over the weekend i drove the 4.5 and then drove the 6.5. The 6.5 was so much more controllable on the track in race form. BUT for bashing i would say the 4.5 or 5.5 would be what you would want. After driving the 6.5 in a qual heat i turned my travel down to 85% on my 4.5 and man that was the key on our track. More handling and perfect amount of power. I am driving the scrt10 and this truck didn't even have to think twice about running up front in front of the 6.5. I would recommend this motor to anyone who has a 4x4 short course truck. This will allow you to run at maximum MPH and not have to worry about heat at all. My hat is off to TEKIN. Another great product.

According to the Tekin rep I chatted with yesterday, the motors were being shipped everywhere as of then.
