Slipper eliminator is a great mod for those of us running stock buggy. I just dont know if I can wait until the end of June for them in Tamiya blue...lol

Just about finished with my first Tamiya build since my Super Champ in 1983. You guys arent kidding about the quality. Wow, what a pleasure to build. Cant wait for the XM kit to arrive but in the meantime I'll start building my 503.

Anyway, here is my XR...

Well if your looking to be running 17.5 blinky and are looking for every little bit to loose weight from the transmission..

Look into these part #'s and you will have a Slipper eliminator and a complete alloy top shaft with integrated top gear

54234

and if you want to loose a little bit more weight ..try this as well

All that fits well but one problem, how do you screw on the spur gear? I have those parts and tried it many ways. The only way you can do it is to buy the spur gear holder with a set screw instead of using the pin. The spur gear hold the pin in place on the shaft after screwing the spur on and it screws in from the back part. The motor plate is in the way. Just get the Exotek part for a B5, perfect fit.

Just wait and see... it works.. and I will post up the part that is needed to make it work "properly" without any issues...

I recieved an email from Exotek the other day saying end of June at the earliest for the slipper eliminator in light blue.

What else do I need to make the Tamiya parts that you listed work? Stop teasing...

The idler shaft is short so you'll either have to shim the bearing out or look for a wider bearing. If you just directly install the idler shaft from the FF03, it will have slop in the TRF201 gear box.

So if you have a confirm solution without modification (cutting, drilling, or grinding) please do post the set up.

Couldnt you just use the zahhak parts to mount the spur.

I believe JDM is trying to only use TAMIYA parts. At least that's what I try to do. That's the fun of it.

The Zahhak is a tamiya. Its the non trf version of the 201.

Weird, never heard that before. Is that a TAMIYA division from Southeastern Iran? Evil figure?
