Default Tamiya TRF2WD thread

It seems like the big T finally will produce a decent 2wd competition buggy.
I have been waiting for this car since the dyna storm.
Looks like they have ignored the midmotor concept. This is a must have for a Tamiya fan like me.

Looks like a B4, Losi, MRC...nothing original.

Its a 2WD 1/10th buggy - they all look the same, basic class rules and dimensions.

Nothing original as far as new technology, such as the new Schumacher Cougar SV. Have to wait and see under the lid.

It does look very similar to a B4 (shock towers, link locations) but the front arms seem to have backsweep like a Losi.

Welcome to the party TRF.

It was always going to be similar, the 501 was very similar in many ways to top 4wds of the time, only the TRF 4wd drivetrain made it look more different. Probably be loads of little changes by release, can't wait!! Any other pics??

Lifelong Tamiya guy here who was about to buy a Kyosho RB5 SP...this may come through just in the nick of time!

Probably won't be out for months and months though if these are the first spy shots...

I wouldnt get excited so quickly, looks like a B4 with a modified shock tower and tamiya shocks on the back..

A lot of the tamiya drivers mix TRF parts on there 2wds..

It is a proto TRF rather than a trf drivers B4

Doesn't mean its close to release tho, who knows!!

True about other TRF drivers. But Satoshi Maezumi is a Tamiya/TRF tester and team driver, and those are his colors.... On oople.com you can see the rear motor mount which is colored TRF Blue. It seems to be a prototype .. Of course I'm praying this is it finally, been waiting since the Tamiya Astute ......

If the build quality is even close to the 501x it will be an awesome car. The 501x was by far the best quality car I have ever owned in my 20+ years of racing.

I will be watching this one.
