for the reason you mention, it DOES matter if one of the thrust washers is larger!! The larger of the 2 needs to be seated against the snap ring. Some of the issues people are having could be the result of using the smaller of the 2 washers against the snap ring. Combine that with having the snap ring in "upside down' so to speak so the rounded edge is the one carying the load and i can surely see where this could cause the issues some are having with the snap ring coming unseated from the groove it rests in.

That sounds like a manufacturer defect to me, and should be replaced by Durango.

I know this post was a while back, but I'm curious how well it fits, like how much of a gap between the side pods and the body is there mainly?

Ill post a pic of my broken tower tonight. maybe its a weak spot and if its in the same spot, i do not see why we cant get them to change the design or material as a running change.

Have a couple of hundred laps on mine and yet to break anything; and I have done some crazy cart wheels. The other guy at my track broke his shock tower on the first lap . Guess i've been lucky

I broke a tower in the same spot. I was taken out by a Slash going over a double and landed flat on the tower. Luckily the towers are one of the few spares available

just wondering...For those of you who are breaking rear shock towers.... are your kits from the first production run batch?

cheese-man, if you are stuck searching for RW spurs, Schumacher spurs are a direct bolt on

Thanks for the help today. I found quite a few places to get the circlips in the search. I ended up ordering from a couple different places to try some different types.

We need a first page organized like the Losi SCTE's page. Really helps to have resources like that. On this thread if you miss a couple days of not reading its like work just to catch up on info.

I also ordered a couple different thrust bearings to try also. I think I like the looks of the Schumacher one the best.
