Before I start cutting and drilling, If you guys have any tips, suggestions or things to look out for regarding the extended front shock tower please let me know. Thanks.

hell of an idea, but you might want to use the plastic or carbon tower (extream) w/ the aluminum tower you just added alot of leaverage, in a crash it might bend pretty easy. not knocking the work or the idea, looks like a very sound idea!

That looks like a ton of droop in the front but seeing how Mr. Wright performs on the track I'm not going to question it. :cool:

It does create a good amount of down travel, but it is limit-able with the droop screws. (Finally I can tune with the front droop screws! :D ) |

I agree, that's why the cnc towers have been sitting in the spare parts box. Once I get the new piece made I'll definetly try it with the plastic tower. Thanks.

We are racing these trucks and they handle great, the front shocks are a little short for some conditions. I actually went back and re-read my post a few times to make sure I didnt say something weird. I have been nitro deprived for many months (Cant wait for Motorama). I guess I shouldnt have used the word issues, instead I should have said front shock mod. Anywhoooo. It seems like a few people almost got this figured out. Jamminkrazy posted something about mounting the rear shock tower with rear shocks and using a turnbuckle. Would putting a bigger shock tower upfront mess with the way the body mounts? |

You're welcome!
And I can say that this works VERY good. With this set up I switched to 600 up front with 500 rear shock fluids. #2 shock pistons all the way around. The droop screws are now effective for tuning! |

Great to see all these thinkers out there, very cool Jimmy. Well I decided to do a little more work on the extended front shock tower before I went to bed. Decided to try the plastic shock tower for some extra give (crash protection) as suggested by Cbrociuos. Added a few more holes for upper shock adjustment. Added some holes for the body mount bracket. Modded the body mount bracket to fit behind the tower. Bolted everything together and it is dah bomb. Can't wait to try it out on the track.
