Have any of you fellas tried putting your rc8Be on a diet?

Mines pretty much stock apart from ft cnc knuckles, but I'm thinking of using all of the lightweight drivetrain parts (might save 50 or 60 grams, but it's rotating mass) a lundsford screw kit (at about $300 aud delivered that gunna hurt) and the GHEA worlds kit. I'd love to try a carbon chassis, but at it's current weight I'd be worried about it's longevity.

Has anyone else got some ideas on light weight parts that are available?

Smokey

I saw that price on the screws the other day...there has got to be another/cheaper screw kit!??? too rich for my blood! Anyone know of a cheaper kit/solution?

I'm about to order the lighter drivetrain parts myself.

fasteners-express.com for alum. screws. and you can order mugen ti screws they are cheaper than lundsford. also racers edge sells some items. I use some alum nuts. also on the bottom of the chassis i use alum screws that hold the f/r diffs and radio&battery tray. jmo

Has anyone tried to run the shock mod with the 10x1.1 pistons? (cut bladders with a hole punch)
Can you run the mod with aluminum shock caps, or do you still have to use the plastic caps?

Little or no rebound - or full rebound?

Thanks

Are you running the AE factory team Big Bore shocks or the small first version shocks?

for those of you running the 8 x 1.3 pistons, what oil do you suggest? 40f/35r? anything under 35 seems to be extremely soft on the bench -although real track conditions will exhibit a different "set" fluid dynamics within the shock on the track vs on the bench -its hard to tell.

I've got the Tekno V4 chassis on my RC8 and am looking for some batteries. I don't plan on racing, but would like the option. Ideally I'd be running the Gens Ace 4s 40c batteries, 5000mah, except I can't get my hands on them. With that said, I have a couple questions:

I'm running a Castle 1800kv motor with a mamba Max Pro ESC. 17t pinion and stock spur (converted from nitro, not sure the tooth count).

For bashing, how concerned do I have to be about my "C" rating? Will a 4s 20-30c battery be fine, or will it be asking for too much out of the pack?

Mah: Currently I mess around with a 20C 3s, 4000mah battery. I don't run it hard because the battery will get warm, puff and all that good stuff, so I can't really judge what kind of run time I'd get. If running a similar setup, what kind of run times are you getting out of how many mah's? Or, do I NEED a 5000mah to be happy? I'd be happy with 15 min run times.

i read that you take a voltmeter and run one side to the neg side of battery plug and put other probe into the balance port holes until you find the one with 7.4 volts

You'll want to use the middle wire for a 4s pack
