I use that same setup as far as esc and servo with a sr300 and haven't had any problems so far if so you can just buy a cap that plugs into the rec and stops all your problems

Dunno what to tell you, I bought the RX battery because they had no glitch busters in store.

Most of the time this will be an easy fix. However sometimes those SR300 receivers are a PITA. If you have another RX available to run try swapping out that SR300.

First car and first radio so no other RX to try but thanks for the thought. I have used spectrum in aircraft an this is not my first experience with a brown out!

:)

Castles bec is the best way to go if a cap won't do it.

Well I'm happy to say that after 50 mins and 2 packs didn't have 1 glitch or loss of power. I might invest in the UBEC when I upgrade the ESC and motor.

Yeah, the external BEC's works good. But it's a bummer you have to use them. There are 3 variables that always seem to have these issues; Spektrum, Castle and Savox. If run one or more of these, expect to run either a CAP or BEC.

Yep that sums up my experience!

Just so everyone is clear this is why I have an RX battery.

SC10RS with SC700-BL ESC and a Spektrum SC300 RX. It was glitching and browning out, Car would stutter and green light on RX would go out then come back. This happend when ever the car was running and I turned hard.

So I went to get a glitch buster (capacitor) RC Hobbies didnt have any in stock. One of the guys said try running a seperate RX battery and so I did. A 5 cell NiCD to power the RX and Servo.

Ran it for 50 mins this morning (2 packs) and didnt have one issue.

Ill most likely replace the RX battery with a UBEC down the track when I upgrade the ESC and Motor if required.

When using the JCon hex adapters with the Hazard rims do you still use the blue coned spacer on the outside of the tire?

No, you do not use the blue cone-shaped spacer when using the JConcept hex adapters.

ganna grab one of these from the shop once my 4wd is sold....for indoor med bight clay all around I always hear gold barcodes are great, last forever and have good grip. Would pressure points in gold work well also?

For the 2wd buggy blue v1 works perfect.

Thanks man, I didn't think so because there wasn't enough thread left.

When you put the hex adapters on the front and you use the different hub where does the e clip go? I think two of them came with the adapter kit.

Nevermind, found it in an online SC10RS manual. Then promptly lost a dman c clip.

I've been collecting spare parts off ebay all weeks. How the heck do those chop shop sellers make money? I feel like I am stealing sue of the things I get. Complete chassis with battery strap, hardware, foam, nerf bars and rear brace for $20, another one with front and rear bumpers the nerf bars for $15, I got a full front and rear end with arms, hex adapters, hubs pins and bulkheads all together for $25. Its great. I now have nearly two complete spare trucks minus diff and a few other things for less then $120.

If you need parts check ebay, all the stuff I got is new. Its amazing how cheap you can get it for.

Yep, the gold Barcodes are superb for an indoor clay track with medium bite. I run at Bumps & Jumps R/C Speedway and I'd say about 90% of the guys there are running gold Barcodes. And yes, Pressure Points will also work okay, but I don't think quite as well as the Barcodes in those track conditions. A few guys at my local track run the Pressure Points, but they are not nearly as popular.

i bought my son a brushed rtr sc10 last week and not even through the first battery pack and the car stopped going, steering worked but car wouldn't move, took it down to associated(I'm local) and 10 mins later after i was there said the board was bad and that he was going to give me the brushless setup with the 3300 motor and install a fan for me all for FREE!My 5 year old is just happy that he can drive it again and I'm happy with a lot better system,i will say with the setup on the slowest setup its still pretty fast and a smooth throttle delivery, hell maybe ill through some barcodes on it and race it in mod! This is my 2nd time dealing with associated customer service and both times are nothing but a+++++++++,Thank associated for putting the smile back on my kiddos face and awesome customer service!!!!!

Murray100 05-19-2012 11:57 AM

I had the same super customer service from associated. My esc went bad at 90 days and they replaced with new esc and motor. Go Associated.
