It's primarily for a broader/easier tire and wheel choice.. That way you can rotate your tires, should you be running hard-packed clay/bluegroove, as well as only have a box or bag of one type of wheel/tire.. Instead of having your Fronts separated from your rears.. Just makes things easier all around.

Rock on man, cheers!

That seems weird that they are failing so quickly, I just wouldn't have though they'd go bad that often. What was going wrong with them exactly?
I'm not sure what's happening. I've checked bearings, gears and everything attached. don't have an answer. I just keep an eye on them after every run.

I just received my Avid front/rear 12mm hex adapters today in the mail, to replace my stripped out JConcept pieces-o-crap. I installed them the same in the rear as the Jconcepts were (removed blue cone-shaped space, and left the 2 shims on the axle). And in the front, I left the one shim on the axle. To the guys running the Avid hex adapters: is this the correct way to install these?

I don't quite understand why Avid doesn't include any type of instructions in the package with their items, or on their website. I mean... I know they are pretty simple items, but it still would be nice to make sure I put them on right.

I will say though, I was actually able to put the adapters on the axle and tighten the screws without stripping them out. WAY TO GO AVID!!! You figured out how to make a hex adapter for the SC10 that actually works... now help out JConcepts a bit, so they can stop ripping people off with their junky adapters
I don't use any shims in mine. I installed mine with new hardened pins and the hexes but up perfect the bearing and there is minimal slop. 1 shim is to tight on mine. I'm also running the .5 offset B44.1 hubs. Not sure if that would make a difference?

Thumbs up 12mm hex

There will be no direct effect on handling or speed. The advantage comes in the wider range of wheels you can use along with not needing 2 seperate style wheels for the front and rear. Another plus is the ablity to use the +3mm offset wheeels available in 12mm hex.

Trust me. I have no problem staying in the front.
It's when you get hacked the 1st turn when you start or when you come around to lap drivers that want to race you and push your door in as son as they get a chance to..

Became to much to deal with so I stopped for a while.

I can dish it back though. without a problem. It seems when someone wants to push you around the track and they get pushed back. all hell breaks loose and the crying starts. lol kind of funny really.

Oh, yeah I know the feeling man! Happened to me just this last Friday night, running Open 2wd SCT.. lol, came around to lap the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th guys, and immediately was thrown off the track by them all wanting to take the same line as me, on a 90° corner hip jump.. It happens though.. meh

Every race it seems to happen. That's why I've considered switching to 2wd buggy.

Well that's why race directors should speak up and make the offenders wait till the offendee is back on the track.

Oh, I just got home with my new FT kit!

SDRC right? Ya I was in that same race bumping up from the B. I watched a group of cars in front of me taking each other out, allowing me to cruise by and finish 3rd I think.

But ya, I quit racing SC 2 years ago because all the hacking is frustrating.
