what hub towers are you guys running? going to be running mod on a low traction bumpy track

Hey GUYS, first post here....I've been following this forum for a few months now, and currently have a FT 2wd Truck w/ MMP and Ballistic 10.5...

Just wondering what everyone is running for steering gear???

What you are failing to realize is we are not comparing a sheet of twill weave flat stock carbon fiber to a sheet of plastic. The carbon arms are injection molded, just like the plastic arms. The only difference is that the carbon arms have a certain % of the plastic polymers replaced with carbon fiber strands. This raises the modulus of the arm. There is give and take between tensile strength and modulus. In other words if you have a high modulus carbon blended polymer it will be stiffer but also weaker in tensile strength than a standard polymer arm. You're comparing apples to oranges. We are comparing green apples to red apples.

I'm running AVID now I like it better than stock glued.

I think people are getting consused between carbon and carbon fiber. The associated "carbon" arms, top plate, u-brace, are NOT carbon fiber. They are just made with a mix of regular old plastic and the resin used in making carbon fiber. Their is no fiber involved. None. So its just more rigid.

I'm running an STRC aluminum bellcrank with saver.

Forget it then. My Dr. said I need more fiber in my diet.

FYI: I'm getting use to the RM setup. It kind of suits my style with driving with the rear wheels. It started to click late in the Main Saturday.

Glued stock, but I'd go aluminum if I wasn't so dang cheap.

I've got the STRC unit but I pinned it so the servo saver is locked. Pretty well satisfied but they reuse the piece that provides quite a bit of the slop, the little bushings for the ackerman arm.

....and Riv2SC10 is the cheapest man on the planet.
