SC10 Thread
Good quality CF will take more abuse then any plastic part, the main advantage of CF is that it will not bend it has only 1 breaking point and that is the actual break point.
So in theory Good Quality CF should remain stiff and straight while other plastic peices bend.
Whether thats a good thing, I dunno it put more stress on other plastic parts.
Carbon arms are stock on the Factory Team kit FYI
. The carbon arms are more precise and dont flex unlike the RPM arms. The RPM stuff is designed for the basher and flex quite a bit and do not hold a setup well. Also the RPM arms do not allow for the intallation of a sway bar unless you drill your own holes.
I only use the FT Carbon arms. They can break if you drive a little stupid. I prefer the stiff performance of the Carbon arms.
Sorry didnt realize your from Kentucky. Forget what I said as I just wasted my breath.

I broke one RF a arm in a year. Somebody decided it would be a good idea to get a broom out and help out the sweeper right before I got there. It wasn't fun, but it was funny.
I was disappointed in the RPM bumper. It caused me to DNF since it put too much stress on the 4 bottom screws and mine backed out. Mostly my fault because I did the metric conversion and had different threads, but still don't like the design.
I got the T-bone now: http://t-bone-racing.net/Brand-A-M/Associated/SC10-c37/
i haven't raced with it yet but I like how it's smoother and had a brace. I like the rear bumper too since it sticks out past the body so the rear won't get torn up on the outer posts.

It doesn't list it in the description and in the picture of the front suspension it doesn't look carbon either.
Also the guy said he was wanting more durability, not for his truck to handle better, so I gave him my opinion on what I thought added durability.
When I first started running my SC10, I put RPM arms, bumper/skid, and ball cups on it. Mostly because I sucked at landing the downside. Sucked at landing all together. Heard the rumors about the broken chassis. Saw pictures of them broken. So I just ran RPM. About a year and a half later I decided it was time to run the stock parts. The RPM bumper bottoms out more and I hated the look. Well, since switching back to stock 6 months ago I broke my first arm last night. I believe I stress fractured it at Cactus Classic and I finally finished it off. Anyone who saw the front quad at Cactus knows what I'm talkin about and I'm not suprised. The stock parts are better than fine if you can drive decent. I still use the RPM ball cups and they ARE better than stock. I'm happier with my sc with the stock parts.

Bought the RPM heavy duty cups 3 years ago for my TC5 before I realized they were too thick and binding the steering. Saved them and was finally able to utilize them on another vehicle and they work great.
That box came on my SC10 RS. I wish it wasn't there. Every time I need to unplug the ESC to program it or remove the servo I have to remove the cover. It is also hard to plug in the ESC and servo to the rx due to the cramped space in the box. I would like to eliminate it, but the antenna mounts to the cover. Unless you absolute need the cover, I would pass.
Love my sc10!!
I had some old rc10 stadium trucks and buggies sitting around. so I drilled a hole next to the reciever in my sc10 to accommodate their old antenna mounts and eliminate the bulky box. I would recommend tapering the hole in the bottom so it doesn't catch dirt.
