main thing is you gear for you track conditions.

Using what the late Big Jim, one of the premier motor men of his day told me, I always start my gearing to top out towards the end of the longest straight on the track. I think adjust my gearing appropriately for the rest of the track as needed based on temps I am seeing and how it feels.

Usually, don't have to change much at all.

My hex post is here if anybody wants to read the difference between Proline and AE front hex axles.

None. My Proline kit is tight as a drum. You have to be careful not to overtighten the wheel nut else it will destroy the bearings as the Proline system has no way to account for crush. The AE version doesn't have that problem, but it isn't as wide.

I chock that one up to the user.

I read those too and can't figure out why. It's a hex. Mine are perfect. So are my Pro Line ones.

In researching 13.5 no boost gearings in the past I came across: 25/75 & 19/81 for OCRC or something in Cali. Idk...
Maybe just get a 75 then.. I dunno now lol

I went with the AE FT manual suggestion of 21/84 for an fdr of 10.40 and it seems to work for my setup and track. Try both 75 & 84 or whatever you want & see what is good for you. Just watch temps closely checking after 4 or 5 min.

that not having a crush sleeve on the proline kinda sux. id either go factory AE or Jconcepts, the 3plus mm wider hazard wheels will give you the width.

I think I gave an unbiased analysis of both products, and neither is perfect.

If you're going to want to space it out or run the same hexes front and rear, the Pro Line is the only choice. If you run Hazard wheels or something else that is +3mm already, the AE is better because the c clip provides a thrust surface that the Proline one lacks.

Users can pick the one that's best for themselves.

Anyway personally I would switch to hex's I converted and never looked back, it was definatly worth the money. A advantage is once you switch to hex's you can switch your tires around, instead of just running the bearings in the front and the pins in the rear. But if you dont want to spend the money converting right now I would just buy the hex's for the rear and leave the bearings in the front. Just because it elluminates the chances of stripping your wheels out.
Haha, yeah, I was at Bumps and Jumps last night It sure is a small world. I went there last night to run my newly built FT SC10 for the first time. Which truck is yours (whats the paintjob like, then maybe I can remember you)? And I think I am just going to convert my whole truck to hexes. Also, last night I saw everyone was running JConcept Barcodes, so I'd like to run them as well. Therefor, I figure if I am going to switch to all new tires, then I mine as well change to hexes while I'm at it.

Anyways, I'm sure I will see you round. Take care.

Jconcepts makes aluminum hexes now for the AE SC10RS hex conversion, if you get tired of the plastic hexes.

http://blog.jconcepts.net/2011/11/ne...or-sc10-front/

Don't use them in the rear, they are waaaaaay too narrow. This is the correct part:

If you get the proline stuff up front, you need no extra parts - the PL piece comes with the correct width aluminum hex.

Like I stated before, get the J-Concept front and rear hex, along with the AE axle and steering block and be done. Can have the front and rear with clamping hubs for the cost of the Pro-Line kit. Have it on my truck and works great.

EXCEPT if you have a season worth of Rulux wheels and tires already mounted....then you might want to space it.

I am running the orange, yellow and green paint job. Yeah some people run MC Suburbs but the Gold Bar Codes seem to be the best tire right now. Are you racing this Sunday?

Ok, I think I remember your truck. And no, I'm not racing this Sunday, I need to get wayyyy more practice before I'm ready for that But, I should be there for a few hours just to watch, I'm gonna offer to flip over trucks if Tim want's me to. Are you gonna be racing? If so, I will keep an eye out for you.

I've been looking for JConcept Barcode SCT (Gold) tires for the last week, and haven't had any luck. From what I understand, the company isn't getting their foam inserts in from their supplier, so they haven't been able to put out any Barcodes lately. They are on backorder in ever LHS around me, and nearly every website as well. However, I was lucky enough to find them on the Absolute Hobbyz site. Here is the link if anybody is looking for them:

I know this doesn't apply to most people, but if you were looking for them, then I hope this helps you
