Default Oil vs Springs

I am running at a track that has some fairly large jumps that are causing me to "bottom out", would I be better off going with a heavier oil or a stiffer spring in the shocks to combat this? I don't want to lose an of the control I have finally dialed into this truck?

I've you've got a good setup already (you mentioned it's pretty dialed in right now), different oil/springs could easily tune your setup right out. Bottoming out shouldn't throw your vehicle out of control unless you're not landing in the most efficient manner. If so, work on landing in a better way for that particular jump. I'd tune the suspension for the majority of the track (best acceleration and cornering) and if the jumps are so huge that you just have to change the oil/springs, make small changes at a time. Don't combat big jumps at the expense of being slower throughout the other 95% of the track.

Check out Fred Swain's forum on Tuning With Camber Links. We do a bit of arguing and bickering but the information there is invaluable. He basically steps you through tuning up your car from the beginning.

Hey folks, my son just stripped out the gears on his old Futaba servo in his SC10. What steering servos does everyone recommend? He's only 10 years old so I don't want to break the bank.

What kind of torque and speed does it have? You happy with it? Quick enough for a tight, technical course?

What does lowering or raising the steering block affect handling on this truck? That's one adjustment I've never played with and was curious what others have found.

Yeah. Somebody must've played with this. I think I read somewhere that running them higher gives more steering but also increases sensitivity or twitchiness.

Anybody????

Anybody???

If you want to run the pro-line wheels you need to order the ones that are the "protrac" wheel.

I personally run a hitec 965mg. Its super fast (.10) and has adequite torque for a 2wd. (136oz. in.) Its also not power hungry like those savox servos
