any trick to freeing up the gear diff? I took mine apart to clean it and put fresh black grease and it didn't help much. I didn't put very much either. I think I want a ball diff, but I thought I'd ask first.

The more you run the diff, the more it should free up. The black grease will start to break down with use.

Default sc10

I just purchase a new Team Associated SC10 RTR Rockstar yet I am looking for speed. It comes equip with SC XP 450-BL esc and 3300 brushless Reedy motor.. I want to race against my friends which have Traxxas Slash with VXL.. What kind of motor should I get to compete? I know they sale a Reedy 6100 motor would it work with stock esc?

Thanks for the help

If you are racing on an actual track then the 3300 motor has enough power, just pick up some more pinion gears. Anybody know what comes as the stock pinion?

Yes I ran 2 of the 4 spider gears. I also removed the the very small seals on the outdrive as to these will bin the diff if they get damaged. Lastely I just coated the gears with 100k OFNA diff oil. Worked very well on the track for me.

When I was going through it, I did notice that a lot of the resistance was coming from the outdrive seals. Both of the seals looked to be in good shape though.

Are you getting any leaks with the seals removed?

What turn motor are you running? Will two of the gears hold up to an 8.5?

Default Sc10 gears

I just picked up a used sc10. What should the stock pinion and spur gear be for the reedy motor?

Brushed or brushless? 30,000rpm or 3300kv?

If it is brushed, it should be left on factory setting 18/87 since it has been running some hot. I think it is better off to get brushless motor. For brushless motor, It can be between 18 to 20t and check your temp. on motor.
