If I swap out the stock arms to the less desirable hyper 9 arms they will work. From reading other posts the arms on my buggy now are the better arms though ? DAMMIT....

I was looking for the thread that had all the pictures of the different arms and can't seem to locate it, can anyone please post a link ??? Thanks, J.

I'll see if I can find the pic, but what you want to do is dremel off the rear end of the Hyper 8.5 a-arm. Then, you will use the Hyper 9 ball end part and turnbuckle on the Hyper 8.5 dremeled arm.

Here is a pic of my car, and as you can see in the pic, I have a white shim where I dremeled:

You may find you will need to shim them slightly if you dremel too much. This is how they are on my car and on others.

Can you post pics of the a-arms you have on your car? Or, if I find the thread on ofnas site, specify which number is the arms you have on the car?

Here is the thread on ofna's site that has all the variations of the arms out there:

These are the arms I have now, I have the bottom arms on the buggy now, do I need to reinstall the top stock arms to work in conjunction with the 8.5 upper arms and them dremel for part fitment ?
Thanks.

From my understanding now, the lower arms are the B Version right? If so, then you will need the rest of the B version front end stuff too based on what I am understanding from what others have posted on the ofna forums to get those to work. You will want to just go back to the arms that came on the buggy (top ones) with the Hyper 8.5 uppers.

Here is a link to all the a-arms versions out there for everyone to see.

1.

2.

3.

4.

Looks like we have Gen 1 a-arms, both of us. I haven't had an arm breakage issue with the gen 1 and the Hyper 8.5 mod.

from what I am gathering on the ofna site, #2 is actually newer since than 1 or 3 since it has the webbing portion filled in, and 4 being the Hyper 9 "B" version arms.

Thumbs up

Mr Cain,
I was successful with the 8.5 upper arm install, I did have to use the B lower arms and I'm a little bummed about because the 4th Gen arms look to be tougher ? I also was able to remove the perfect amount of material and had no need for shims, something went right ? LOL
I've ben talking about it for weeks and tired of waiting but if weather permits I'll be hitting the track Sunday. Thanks for your help, research and quick response to my delema.
Jeff

It looks like I'll be doing a live show on our Ofna Live about 2:00 pm pac. time about the Hyper 9e so if you have calls or questions you'll be able to asked them on the live chat for me to see, we're still working out the bugs on getting live calls to go upstairs to be answered but if you would like to try we will do what we can to have the call live, but it's also good to have a chat question ready to go if we can't get the call upstairs. Shooting for 2pm if not it will be on the next hour 3pm.

Thats great to hear you got it to work. I think though that the 4th gen are the version B arms?? Hopefully that can get hammered out for sure as all these versions is confusing.

darn, will be busy at that time of the show. Anyway, if anyone else can chime in, it would be nice to get the following hammered out:

1. What is the right version of the A-arms for the 9E and are they going to still be available?

2. Will a conversion be offered to move the ESC down to the chassis so you don't need to cut your tray?

3. Will a better fitting body be offered?

4. Will mudguards or some sort of dirt guards for the electronics be offered?

Those would be my questions.

Cain I will try to find out more on your quest about guards, as for arms they are for A version on 4th gen. body I think someone will have to profit on that like J Cocepts to corner that market but you never know, but this will play later and I will make note of it on the show as much as I can.

The new arms are bomb-proof. Any arms that you order from Nitrohouse are the newest version.
I t-boned a dead Losi last weekend at full wood. I blew both right side arms off the Losi and the Hyper was un-harmed.
With the new arms, the 8.5 upper arms are not needed.

Hmm, I wonder if the car I ordered from NitroHouse on Monday is the newest version or not...

I believe #2 are the newest version, but I dont have my buggy to look at where I am at. Maybe DJ can clarify? I do know that Nitrohouse ONLY has the new version. If you buy from them, you will have the correct version. As far as kits having the new arms, I am not sure. I would order them with your new kit just to be on the safe side. Nothing wrong with having some extras.
