Default Brace Pic

here are some pics of the Ve8 brace on a Bump Edition. It does fit and I'm sure it will work, BUT! Anyone who has driven one of these cars cannot argue that is quick right out of the box! There are also alot of thimgs to consider when re-mounting your servo, like, body clearance, range of motion for your servo arm and servo link etc... I personally don't think its worth it. The car was designed with flex just like the rc8be, and they both work really good!HoBao Hyper 9E thread-pict0090.jpg

That PBS kit looks like a must have. Thanks for the pics, and please post when you're aware of availability.

Did you use Tekno servo mounts?
Yes, I used the Tekno servo mounts. Only 1 screw per end but it is still very secure.

I didn't even think about the VE8 brace. Might be something to look into.

went to my hobao dealer today to ask about the pbs, saw his son doing 2 second faster laps with it installed. he said it was much smoother in the corners. he has only received one system for sale to the public, cost me 120 euros for the kit and 35 for a set of front cvds he said i needed. will have it installed an run by end of the week an will let you guys know what i think of it. excited to try it as his sons car looked soo planted an in general i like pbs over c hubs.

Thanks for the update. Eagerly waiting the arrival of this pbs system, as I would much rather have a pbs system on my 9 than the current c-hub system. Seems to handle overall better for my other rides, am sure it would be awsome for the 9e. Hopefully will be on NitroHouse (or anywhere) before the summer outdoor season for the NorthEast. I'd like to hear how they work for ya.

One other thing I forgot to mention about the BPS.

Drive shafts are now the same as the rears so no need to have 2 different types.
I think that's good news given they are one of the most expensive individual spares you probably have in your kit.

i'm working on converting a ofna x1 cr to electric and looking at using a 9e motor mount. I was wondering if somebody could measure the bolt pattern on the chassis for me to see if it is similar to my x1.

p.s. i have seen the rc monster mount already but it's too expensive for me.

Yes, the Pl body will work. I have used it on the H9 2.0 buggy, with the 4x4 chassis. It is 4mm longer, whereas I believe the Bump E's are 3mm longer than stock.

Where it shows up as far as mounting is at the rear. It was lengthened behind where the mudguards end, near the pivot block. It is best to shim the rear body mount forward a bit. This allows more lexan material around the body hole and it will last longer. I used some spare wheelbase spacers and a longer screw to space the mount forward. I have found it much easier to mount the body to the chassis first and then do your normal body prep before painting.

Another thing to keep in mind though is what type/size of battery you are using. Most will not be an issue but with some of the "brick" type 5 & 6s packs with very high mah count, it may get tight around the battery. I personally use a 5s 3800 that measures 36x39x14omm and weighs 490g with no clearance issues. Either in the forward or back position withthe Jconcepts body and now with the Jconcepts losi Punisher body.

The Punisher body does require extra modification to get a proper fit. Which inlcludes lowering the front and rear mounts, along with moving the rear mount forward. And some extra trimming around the front and rear bulkheads. Again I would suggest mounting and trimming this body prior to painting for easier fit and you dont mess your new paint up.
