A video from last summer. Bumpy, dusty conditions at a local town festival race. The video follows my Hyper9E (Black with flames). I was running a Medusa 2000 60mm on a MMP powered by a Hyperion 4S 6500 pack. At times this race looks more like a practice session than a race.

HoBao Hyper 9E thread-photo.jpg

few pics of what i got in my pbs kit, its basically the hyper star front end in a bag minus the driveshafts which i had to buy extra, same as mentioned earlier in this thread that they are rear shafts now in the front.

its comes with a front brace for the nitro, with hyper star etched onto it. got to look at the hyper star today also built an in the box, love how it comes in kit form, i miss having to build all my models from scratch. The left hand side of the hyper star box has the nitro specs an the right hand side has the electric specs but my dealer has no word of when a electric version will be realeased.
he has 5 of them in stock for over a week now, shows how bad the credit crisis is as he has the only 5 in Spain.

will post some more pics when i get it installed, been nothing but rain here for over a week, a week more forecasted an sadly there are no indoor tracks

forgot to ask also how many spider difs you guys run, my car came with 3 installed, dealer sold me a near new noraml dif an said to install it in the rear. have it installed but with the rain not tried it yet. Saw on another site that the uk spec cars come with spider in the front normal mid normal rear. The hyper star comes spider spider normal, with 3-5-1 or 5-3-1 oils from factory, forget exactly on the front an mid which was which.

I used to have a revo earlier, wich uses the the same kind of pbs system, I liked it, and maybe it's not really comparable with this system. One thing though, the wheels angles adjusted itself quite easily.

Not that big of a problem on a bashing monster truck but that would probably be something to keep an eye on when you start driving with this setup in a race machine.

Also i used to strip the threading in the a-arms quite easily when crashing into stuff. But then again, two completely different usage scenarios. Just want to give you a bit of headsup on what might happen.

And a question for you all, is anyone using the gearbox rubberboots, I've just got mine delivered and it seems like a quite tight fit behind the swaybars, should i mod the swaybars or buy a different kind to stay out of trouble?

No problem. Plenty of space.
Minor modifications to lower the body mounts.
Anyway, I found a new batteries that fit perfectly in the Hyper 9e.
Dimensions are: 160 x 45 x 30.5mm (5200 mAh 35C)
Lower center of gravity and better front-rear balance.
After talk with the people of Hobao in Spain, use a conventional wing is a must.

Flumpy, yes, I know very well Kana, and I think he told me about you.
I race the nationals and Madrid and Murcia local championships.

I run the boots on the rear only, and after 2 months of hard practice, racing the sway bar finally wore them down.

What effect do you see from using the vertical stabilizer on your body?
