It works with that ESC. People at ocrc raceway in huntington are using the same exact setup with only one 11.1V lipo battery (some use two 7.4V lipo's as well. I ran that same setup in my SC8e at first. You have to mod the LRP ESC with a voltage regulator from Novak first (I dont remember which one though). It will void the warranty on the ESC. Mine put out a small puff of smoke when I hit the brakes the first time in race conditions (blew a small circuit in the ESC) but never quit or had any other issues. I have raced with it with no problems at all.

yeah, thats what I was talking about. How can they recommend something when it will void the ESC warranty if you do run it? Weird.
Anyone from AE wish to comment on this?

Chances are LRP hadn't released their 1/8 electric ESC and motor yet and instead of inserting a competing company's product in the vehicle, they put what they had that they knew still worked in the vehicle.

LOL! They also had a Novak motor shown in the Recommended Equipment section next to the Comp Sphere ESC. Now it only says Recommended Battery. Me thinks someone screwed up on the press release because the current one has eliminated the Novak motor and 1/10th scale speedo. Oops. I guess they are reading this thread.

The TC Spec ESC is not an official recommendation and has been removed. It is however a good choice for the experienced racer.

Yes it is. We have them in almost all of our vehicles.

Thanks for the clarification.
