Hey John...

I'm almost gonna bet you the controller is gonna need to be sent in... It sucks, but it does happen.

That step up at the state race was hard as heck on electronics... Even mine stopped for a few seconds once... But took back off and acted just fine after that for the rest of the weekend.

I'm not gonna make it to STL this weekend like I had hoped, or I'd bring the one in Tiny J's car up to ya to borrow.

I honestly wouldn't mess with the switch... Having seen the step up we were throwing the cars at last weekend... I doubt it's your problem.

Is your RX8 the 4 or newer 3 hole case?

All joking aside...maybe you should proceed through the list of potential fixes that are more easily reversible before you start cutting anything.
Cutting the switch wires is reversible

It's normally the last thing I would try but still, it has been the culprit in issues a few times.

need some advise.
Running a RX 8 and 4.5 tekin on 2 cell 60 C 6200 lipos in a losi TEN 4X4 16 tooth pin and 40 tooth spur
running at the local track race the guy that beet me was running 3 cell(NO RULES HERE) so will the 4.5 work ok on 4 cell if I hook up two 2 cells together ? and just change the RX 8 to 4 cell. don't want to burn up anything.

just thought I would ask before I cook any thing.. Big track... usually all the guys are running 1/8 nitro buggies.

Default 2050kv?

Hey guys.. I just bought an 1/8th buggie(Mugen Eco) and there's no race tracks where I live. I'll primarily be running this in grass and in big dirt lots etc. Occasionally on pavement. Should I go with the 2050kv since most people use the 1900 for racing? This is my first rc car. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That sounds ok. you could still have temp issues with a higher KV motor but when you bash you are rarely gunning it full time like when you race. Then again you could just use the 1900 (incase you race later) and put a higher than normal range of pinions in there to get speed (13-16 is normal racing range, 16-20T pinions would be a bit high). Trying to saving you money here.

if you have the cash... Bigger is better. the 2000KV motor works great for 1/8 buggy. they have more torque then the 1900. go with the 14 or 15 pin to start. 6's or 4 cell and bigger then 30 C JMO

a 1900 is just fine you have to remember more kv=more power = less run time as well, you can race a 1900 you can bash with a 1900

Default Sensored

A guy told me that Tekin ESC's are "sensored" and Castle/Neu combos are not. What's the difference?

2 2s together is a 4s don't use a 4s battery,i would just use your 2s,the sc4 4.5 wont handle a 4s battery it will create to many rpm's

That's not 100% percent true. An unsensored system can be just as smooth as sensored. Tekin and Castle are both very good systems speaking from someone who owns both.
