It will imo... but obviously you will have to gear it tall in comparison to what you would use with something like a 2050kv. The video I posted yesterday was running a 1700 on 4s... geared either 46/15 or 46/16 in a Losi

I ran a 1512 2d on 4s 8000 and it made 20 minute run time and was as fast as the nitros

I think only the motors tekin was testing are being shipped out right now unless they come and say different, but all we have been hearing them running is the 1900kv and the 2050 kv buggy.

havent heard much about 6s motors or truggy anything.
I am sure Krio will chime in but he had the complete set up. It's a 2.5 2050 combo. It runs better than it looks. He isn't even running the fan And i'd also like to mention he was very helpfull and friendly

It is indeed a 2050 setup on a 4s 5000 geared 18/46 in an RC8 (4.3:1 diffs). Runtime was 17 to 20 minutes and running 2 packs back to back the esc and motor were both around 145 with the ESC showing 4 leds.

Just got home from my local track and witnessed the gratuitous display of horsepower the Tekin RX8 is capable of in the hands of Team Tekin/Team Associated driver Andy Castellini. OMFG! The car is FAST!!!!! Never, and I mean NEVER saw a 1/8 scale off road buggy do wheelies! I gotta work on gettin me one of those.

If hes doing wheelies the "Team Driver" doesent have his buggy set up properly

Krio never said where he ordered his system from? when?

Yeah, your buggy shure did wel there.

I'l do it, 1700 on 4s.

and wheelies from a buggy indeed not a good setup.

My truggy lifts when punched but it doesn't stay on the rears for more then 2 foot.

Randy,

Advice needed:

If I wanna get the buggy combo for my EX1 Pro, would the 1900kv or 2050kv be more suitable if I'm using 2 x 25c 5000mAh wired in series.

The torque curve on an electric setup is completely different than a nitro. It takes tweaking and experimenting to set up an electric properly, a nitro setup won't cut it.

So far I have found that lighter diff fluids help control the electric bug and trug and make it easier to drive. I notice that the high horsepower nitros are doing the same thing. Also lighter shock fluids/heavier springs. The added wt of electric will keep the nitro shock setups from rebounding quickly.

His set up was fine. Andy was able to make his buggy do what he wanted it to do at his will. It was just the electric 1/8 scales doin a little showing off before the heat started. Topped off with the black groove the track developed. Traction was plentiful.

Blue would know that since he's been racing one for two years.

My 1/8 buggy can do wheelies to if traction is up. I agree that it's not good for lap times!

For a dual pack setup either motor will work well. My question to you is how do you like your power? Smooth and steady go with the 1900kv. IF you like it to hit a bit harder go with the 2050.

Guys! If you recieve the RX8 you need to contact me for the current software. SO, if you plug in your RX8 and the interface says RS you're not current.

The current RX8 load is 197.

I just read the post about wheelie's and Andy and thank you all for the complements and comments, as we enjoy them all. I'm his dad, and I put our money in what works and what holds up...This was his first day out with the RX8. Out of the box, no software, just a few mode changes and it was raced. Ran two 6 minute heats and a 10 minute main. Medium large track, high bite with a blue grove by the time the mains started. The Tekin was flawless. As far as wheelies...he does it for attention...I guess it works! He just turned 15, loves big air, drives hard and is an "A" Main regular. The car is set the way he drives...and he is having fun. Right or wrong set up? Who cares. It works and we I enjoy the show. FYI: The set up is a the Mayfield/Cavalieri AE Worlds Set up. And yes...the Tekin RS8 RIPS and is extemely SMOOTH... Oh yeah, I forgot to mention..............he won.
