Me too. I have lost the fan blades on 3 diffrent fans on the first 3 runs of the car. The fan blades are very bendy i think and landing hard off a jump makes them flex up into the esc top cover and it smashes the blades off every time.

Need better stronger fans for 1/8th off road.

@randy
1. RX8 + buggy motor 2050 or
2. RX8 + truggy motor 2000 on 4s geared to the same top speed ...
Which one gives me the longer runtime in a buggy ...

What do you prefer - truggy or buggy motor in a buggy ?

I had the same problem with mine, you can test the fan output for voltage or you can simply unplug your receiver, turn on the esc and see if the fan comes on. If it does not it more than likely needs to go back to Tekin. Mine is in right now for the fan output not working. The fan should cycle on when you first turn on the esc.

I disagree.

I have 4s on my Losi with 1900 RX8 combo geared gently 45/15 therefore it is really a good fresh gearing, none the less when the environment temperature is around 100 firenight you can't do without fan, trust me.

Other then that also my esc fans died in several ways, once I broke one of them after 4 seconds , I think that's a guiness My actual fan ( in Europe Tekin fans are not available ) is a brushed one, cause the brushless fans in EU are not available in the measure of 10X10X0.7 cm.

My ESC can't anymore manage a fan, dunno why but what ever fan I plug it doesn't work, therefore I merely quitted the game and I always hope in a severe icy storm.

So I have a good one for you all.....New 5 week old RX8 and a day old 1700... Car acts fine right out of the gate, runs like a bat out of hell for about 2 minutes then it goes south from there. Car acts like it has no bottom end limited top end, and then the steering works funny. I also noticed that is not beeping when you turn it on sometimes. Running 198 software, 4s battery in a losi if it matters. Help me out!!

Posted once again: Pic of guaranteed fan fix. I've not had a single fan failure since modding the case this way. Also, http://members.cox.net/manicrc/index_files/Page474.htm are great replacement fans. Stronger fan, shorter lead, correct plug, they work great. ManicRC here on the forum sells 'em.

This is the second RX8 i have had fail in two weeks both when running this particular battery, both RX8 failed the same way and both on a straightaway. I think the hyperion batteries overall are great but i am wondering if i may have gotten a bad one.

another strange thing that i have noticed when running the battery is that i can get amazing run times. with a 1900kv in my Ve8 i can get 23 minutes of run time, this doesn't seem possible, but other people have witnessed this. anyone got any ideas? thanks for your time and help
+1 on that question. I'm in the same boat. RX8 behaving exactly the same as quoted above. What is the root cause, I wonder? I'm waiting for my receipt from Stormer so I can send my RX8 for warranty repair.

Tekin mailed out one of my RX8's today, I will be using one of my friends RX8's this weekend, with different batteries to see if anything changes. I have tried to contact hyperion but they are no help, they dont do a good job at listening to what i am saying. I am not saying their batteries are bad i just think i may have gotten a defective one. I assume at the rate they are producing batteries a small percentage must be defective.

If the the set of batteries work this weekend and the esc lives through it I am going to have to assume that it is the battery. any other points of view on this situation? thanks

Here at the Jconcepts Nationals, we've had so many Tekin RX8 failures that it's a joke. Some have glitching problems and others get fried. I've never seen such a widespread problem. Tekin, we're running out of RX8's!

It's so weird to hear of clusters of problems RX8's out there and then hear more from people who haven't had problems at all?? Is anyone aware of Tekin coming out with a technical bulletin or something that might address the clusters of RX8 failures?
