The custom LVC settings on the Rx8 are NOT per cell! They are total voltge settings.

You will know when you hit LVC, the car/truck has no power and often feels like it hit a wall! LOL

If you're having an intermitent issue I STRONGLY reccomend checking all the connections and solder joints. I can't stress enough about this.

What do you have your LVC set at? are you using the stock 4s setting?

Yeah I'm on stock settings. 4s led 4.

If you want a safer setting try 12.8v.

Thumbs up

Got home from the lake today and found both of my RX8's tucked nicely in the mailbox from Friday. That was a 10 day turn around including shipping
time to Michigan. A huge thank you to Randy, Ty and everyone else at Tekin
for the timely service!

Hey Randy,

I just ran my buggy into a cement beam and my esc and battery went up in smoke. The ESC is fried like chicken. Is this fixable or is the esc totaled? how would it cost to fix something like this if it's fixable?

Thx!

I just picked up an rx8, and I am not sure what safe temp is? It is coming off the track at 145-150. I am not using a sensored motor at this time. I am using a 4c battery.

Thanks for any advice!!

Randy/Ty/hopefully someone...I plan to call tomorrow about this.

First race day of the season, had run plenty of practice (half dozen packs or so) throughout the week, and have had had no issues. Suddenly today right before racing starts, I get LEDs 1,2,6,7. The RX8 manual says this is motor type, or bad connections. I like to think I have good soldering skills, and all the joints look well-flowed, but just to be sure I re-wired the whole thing, including battery connections. Same deal.

Since I don't have another T8 motor to test with, can I test with like a 13.5T Redline from a 1/10th scale car to eliminate the RX8? If so what's the procedure? Should I use only a 2 cell pack, or can I plug in my 4S for a quick initialization? I would think this shouldn't be a problem unless I try to run it at full speed, but you never know.

Yes you can test with any good BL motor. If the esc arms with another motor take the rear endbell off the T8 and look for a cracked solder joint at the lower part of the solder tabs. If there's a crack you can reflow this with a hot iron.

Thanks for the reply, Randy. Do I need to use a smaller battery pack with the smaller motor? In the meantime I ordered another 1900kv combo...hate missing race days, and I guess it's back up time.

I've just been taking a break from troubleshooting, and finished wiring up my Cougar SV Pro with RS Pro/13.5 combo. Sweet setup, though it was far easier to wire up after I decided to switch to 14ga wire. Hopefully since the leads are only about 2.5-3 inches each that will be fine. Should be, since I see people doing triple that length with 12ga in 1/8th scale and this is just a 13.5 1/10th.

I had several problems with my RX8 1700 truggy combo ... (had to wait for the repair/replacement for about 3 month (including shipping to germany) but now the esc + motor runs strong in my sons car (traxxas summit ) and I switched to a MMM 2200 in the truggy.

Loving the smooth motor of a sensored ESC I will give Tekin a second chance for my buggy. So my question is : which combo is the best for a losi 8ight 2.0 buggy ? Actually I am using a MMM 2200 with no problems at 4s. (I am limited to 4s here in germany because of racing rules.... ) Is the RX8 / T8 2050 (buggy) the best choice or is the truggy 2250 version the better choice for longer and cooler runtime ?

How can I be sure to receive a motor with a V2.0 rotor and a bulletproof ESC ? (Tekin : Please send me a PM if I can buy a strong combo directly from you )

Why would you need the fan on all the time? Right now we have no plans to add that feature.
