Same here, and I even went to a non hv servo. I used the hobbico cs170. They are telling me its a wire that must have broke off because it ran fine for the first 3 heats. I am calling BS. I know that I have not had an issue with my soldering job. I have never had a wire just come off. This is obviously an issue and I feel I am getting the run around.

Ok.. guys Ive been running the 2050t8 and I wanna try a different kv 1900 or the 1950i what's the diff? Is the indoor a faster motor aside from the obvious kv diff? I hear the 1900 is faster than the 2050?? Thanks.

Strictly from the standpoint of power output, the 2050 is faster than the 1900. However, I'm sure you've seen people say they are 'faster' with the 1900 based on lap times. The 1900 feels smoother than the 2050, so lap times typically are faster with the 1900. Now, the T8i is smaller in diameter than the T8, so it produces less torque while being a good bit lighter. If you race predominantly indoors on smaller tracks, you don't need all the torque a regular T8 can produce, so it becomes more precise feeling to drive and since indoor tracks usually cater to 10th scale cars, the lighter T8i motor makes the car a bit more nimble to navigate the tighter track.

What size tracks do you race on? This will determine what motor is best more than anything else.

Usually outdoor bigger tracks.. in ohio at the moment and most of tge tracks are indoor.. so I was thinking goinh with the 1900 since I've ran the 2050 forever!

The 1900 T8 would probably be the best choice then. Good luck!

Default no throttle, fan comes on, no lights or beeps

Looking for any help...

Lost throttle twice while running, servo still worked. First time on/off of rx8 solved the problem. Second time only the rx8 fan would come on and all lights flashed indicating no receiver signal. I notice the motor sensor wire has popped out. Stuck it back in turned it on and now it's just fan running no lights or beeps. Servo still works fine. That's where it's stuck.

Thoughts? Never felt hot or smelled funny. Motor war at 130F max.

Recalibrate. If that doesn't work increase you neutral width in steps of 10 until issue stops.

I had the same issue a couple of times were all lights flashed & I had a AE servo that came out of my SC8 Nitro RTR. I put in a external BEC. I haven't had an issue again. The servo was an analog so it was wired.

Man , I may have screwed up . I was looking at systems for my buggy and got a smoking deal on a gen 1 rx8 and a t8 2050 so I did it . After reading more in this thread that looks like a big mistake. Guess I should have waited and bought a 1900 . Oh well , lesson learned. When stepping up your game , make sure your steps are in the right direction .... I may have gone backwards.

The 1900 is favored over the 2050 on average, but it is a small difference in feel and based purely on the 1900 being a smidge smoother in power delivery. If anything, you took 10 steps forward and .001 steps back. Absolutely nothing to beat yourself up over.

I was unable to do anything, mode and incr buttons were non responsive.

It came back to life after I took it out of my car completely and HotWired it. I saw that I had crushed the throttle wire going to the Rx under the battery tray, so it is possible there was a short or something in it.

What BEC works well with rx8? Might be worth it to extend the life of the rx8 in general?

How does the rx8 behave when it does an overheat shutoff?

Note: running spectrum and savox1258 w glitch buster
