Yeah, We'll talk about it tomorrow so we don't clog this thread up, but I was looking at vans on line today. There is plenty or room, leather captains chairs, the works.

Back to this race, anyone know of a decent hotel in the area? I'd book my room now if I can.

2wd Open; 13.5 -or- 10.5
Truck Open; 13.5 -or- 10.5, Outlaw (OL 15-20 minute mains)
8th Scale Electric Open (20-25 minute mains)

my suggestions

Id run 4wd 13.5

another input - 13.5 classes longer mains; kinda a take on the SRS class.... 13.5 lipo/nimh 15 minute mains??

I had a post deleted last week for poking fun about the jumps on our track on the CRCRC forums. I am hoping we'll have a "scale" track this year for the electric cars to run on. I am really not happy about the need for landing gear instead of shocks on my car. It seems that the jump deal is a touchy subject with the CRCRC crowd but there seem to be many electric guys that feel like I do.

It wasn't only the size of the jump or the lack of a proportional downside to land on. The orientation of the jump created one of the worse "blind spot" sections I have seen on any track.
The rest of the 2008 Mid West Champs layout was top shelf.

I am confident that the CRCRC track committee learned from the past and the 2009 track will be one of the best layouts to date!

I don't think there will be any problems this year and I really don't think there is a need to worry or bring it up

Now new pit set up this year will be nice. I also hear there might be some more great things for this years race.

The race will be at the Ohio State fairgrounds not the Franklin County fairgrounds in Hilliard. We used to have the January race at the Ohio state fairgrounds back in the late 80's until the mid Ninety's. Cooper Arena is an awesome place.

Wow, lots of traffic already.

Yes, the venue is different than the last 2 years. We used this location 3 years ago, it's on the Ohio State fairgrounds. We'll be using more of the arena for the track this time around since we have pit space next door. It won't be the same dirt as last year.

Hotels, we haven't gotten that far yet, but there are some hotels pretty close by if I remember correctly. Google the address and then search for hotels if you want to get a jump on the reservation. The address is 17th ave, not 717.

Classes are still under discussion. We will have the standard Mod classes for sure, the question is on the "Stock" type classes and all off the changes that are going on in that area. We don't want to water down the competition with too many classes.

Registration will open......sometime in the future, probably December-ish.

It'll be great to see the Canadians again. Johnnyboy had some awesome coverage last year, try not to get a speeding ticket this time guys. After running the show all day I went home and looked up what Johnnyboy had to say for the day.

We haven't explored WiFi yet. I'm guessing there is a demand for it if we can get it set up, and working better????

MUCH more info to come!
