The bottom end is ridiculously fast so I could stand to lose a bit and I am actually happy with the top end speed however my temps are on the higher side. So basically will it cool the truck down to go to say 13/45? Or would it be better to go to like a smaller spur gear and give up a bit of bottom end with a 44t spur and use a 13 or 14t pinion? ANYONES input or pm's would be greatly appreciated. Also if you could recommend a "brand" of spur/pinion as I stripped 3 plastic ones at todays race and want to go to metal gears now.
I've been using the stock metal Losi spurs, and Robinson Pinions, good combo and not too loud. Going down to a 13T pinion will help lower temps, but you'll loose a bit of top speed. You can also use Expo to make the bottom end a little easier to cope with.

Default 8ight 2.0 vs. 8ight 1.0 hinge pin design

Guys,

My understanding is that the 2.0 uses a larger (4mm?) hinge pin design than what was on the 1.0. Sound correct? Thus the rear arms would be a little different as well (or just have a larger hole!).

Does anyone know the part# for the v2.0 rear hinge pin braces? Do they make the adjustable one with inserts? Thanks!

It is the OUTER hing pins that are larger. On the 1.0 they would bend and bind up. They are not 4mm either... I haven't measured them to know their size.

So when my LHS owner told me the 8B 2.0 suspension arms would work on the 1.0....Did he sell me a bill of goods? I haven't tried them yet.

They will work fine. You will just need the outer hinge pins, spacers, and hub carriers to go with them. Or if you are careful you can drill out the spacers and rear hub carriers.

But they're not a direct fit was what I was getting at. I guess that okay....I'll go back and get the required extra parts.....might be worth it anyhow. I've had a time getting bent hinge pins out in the past.

Where is everyone mounting transponders on the E 2.0?

I have a largish futaba receiver so no chance of putting a pt in the receiver box, and no room for a handout between the box and motor, ant other spots for a handout??

Also, how easy do the hex screws on the kit strip the hex? Bit worried as I didn't realize the motor screws/set screws were metric, and tightened them with imperial hexes. Bit worried I may have damaged the hexes!

Right on top of the "8" using some industrial Velcro. But I use the same transponder for both my off-roads.

If you have the futaba fasst receivers the transponder will fit in the box with it.

Good point actually, my error, repositioned the receiver and the tp has gone in there! Is it ok running them right next to the receiver/aerial?

There's various posts on here about the servo saver and breaking the servo mount on the E2, does the 8ight 1.0 buggy servo saver (4410) work as well to fix the issue as the truggy one most guys seem to use?

Default yet another E goes into action...

Hello guys:

I finally got to backread the entire thread and in the process setup the 2.0 roller into a 2.0E via losi conversion kit using MMM +2200kv motor.

I think this thread helped me sort out some issues I encountered while building.

I have only run 15 or so packs through this setup so more testing must be done to find possible weak points.

On my 2.0 conversion I run the 1.0 8T alu. servo saver arm/spring, the transponder I mounted with the carbon servo mount/stiffener from a 1.0 that I cut to fit! The issue I'm having is the Tekin motor does not fit ( cocks the motor up/ not even) the cradle/mount that the back of the motor sits on. I,m gonna shave it down I guess...

Thats what I did. Also get a smaller screw so it wont come in contact with the can. After all said and done it makes for a really solid motor install!

Default run time

Ran my eight e conversion with the Losi ESC and Losi 1700kv motor geared 16/45 with a
metal spur and the thing is awesome. The only problem I had was the 11
min. max run time? From everything I've read I should be getting 15 to
20 min.

Is the problem gearing? I didn't have any gears with me to try. The
batteries I had were the losi 4s 5000mah 25c and a rhino 4s 4900 mah
20c. The rhino seemed to last a little longer.

Another thing I noticed was after about 8 or 9 minutes the throttle
would shut off for a second or two on the straight away? I would start
only pulling the trigger about 3/4 after that to get the extra 2 to 3
minutes.

We run 15 min a mains, what can I do to extend the run time to 20
minutes. I need a few laps of warm up before the main starts so if I
could get 18 to 20 minutes I would be good to go.

Thanks in advance for any help.
