Nice work my friend! Keep at it man!

I am going to be running mod 2wd from now on, done with "stock". With all of the new technology in speedos in regard to timing advance and different software available all the time, there is really no such thing as stock anymore. I am thinking about running a 7.5 in my buggy and truck, but a friend of mine doesn't think the diff in the GV2 will hold up to that much power. I have ceramic balls and planning on a B Fast job. Has anyone ever had problems with the diff while running a mod motor? I have never ran anything hotter than a 10.5 in it. Thanks guys.

My Buggy has a 4600 in it and the diffs do pretty well. I'm pretty sure the 4600 is close to a 7.5. The truck is overpowered with a 5700 and the diffs are always in bad shape. Honestly though I think its something with that particular diff assembly. Might junk it and start fresh.

While were here and the truck thread is buried - I managed to intermingle all my springs. Have no idea which ones are the stock Gv2-t ones. Are they shiny silver or like a grey?

I figured it could handle it, but I just wanted to see some guys post that it would to quell any concerns anyone has for running mod with this buggy. Thank you. The springs for the truck are a shiny finish.

Thanks gentleman. Need to bump up my Tower order some to get free shipping on my Checkpoint Solder station. While going over my car I noticed the front stock turnbuckles are bent some. What aftermarket are you guys running, or what will fit? I would also like to dump the stock ends. They seem to pop off easy but are a %@$$ for the marshalls to get back on !

I use Lunsford titanium links with SAE titanium studs and Losi ballcups, the SAE studs fit fine in the bulkheads and on the hubs I use a flat nut and loctite on the backside just to be sure. I had all of the titanium from my Losi days and didn't see the point in buying all new metric stuff because these work fine.

However, Lunsford does offer a complete titanium upgrade for the GV2

By far the best ballcups I have used in the 15+ years in this hobby are the Hot Bodies ones from the D4. Buttery smooth, no slop, they stay on REALLY good, and the ballstuds are strong. I started running the HB ballcups and ballstuds a year and a half ago and I just replaced all of my ballcups because they just now started popping off in really hard crashes. I have yet to break a ballstud either. If you can give me a day or so I can tell you what length Lunsford turnbuckles you need, and what length ballstuds you need.

I use that site as well, but it seems a little weird at times.

For the Castle 4600Kv it states: The ideal final drive ratio for this car and motor is about 5.5:1

For a Novak 10.5 (4200Kv) it states: The ideal final drive ratio for this car and motor is about 8:1

And for a Novak 8.5 (5000Kv) it states: The ideal final drive ratio for this car and motor is about 9:1

I think it is pretty accurate. I am guessing it takes into account the different attributes of each motor and calculates based on that. I was running a Novak 13.5 before and geared it at 76/27, it felt great to me. This site says that 76/26 is .1% undergeared, so that seems to be pretty accurate info

Great site, on the "old" site he had gearing for brushed motors also!

I run SP/Tekin motors and SP ESC the Novak gearing works for the SP 13.5 and Tekin 10.5 in T4 and SC10.

Your tran is 2.40 like AE's B/T3's IF I remember correctly, you should be fine with Novak gearing.

See you UNDER the lights @ Farmers Hobby and Raceway!!
