thx cain...the only one i don't see is the stock front silver spring for the truck. I am going down to the track to practice this afternoon, still trying to get the buggy dialed in for the conditions there....very different dirt here. Red clay with a mixture of sand....some spots get packed and can groove up and others are loamy and loose. haven't found the perfect tire yet..........

I was so excited about how dialed my buggy was at the track last night that I had to share this setup with you guys. The track was pretty hard packed and dry with a dusty groove forming, kinda bumpy, red clay/sand. I have been running this buggy for quite awhile and this is the best it has ever felt.

FRONT
narrow MLP
3 C camber link w/one washer under ballstud
plastic 30* caster block
1/4 oz under steering rack
1 washer under steering spindle ballstuds
arms just below level
1.5* camber

FRONT SHOCKS
ACD white spring
kit 2 hole piston
losi 35 wt oil
bladder down
no limiters inside
one small limiter and extra o ring outside
long shock ends unscrewed 3 turns
inside on arm
middle on tower

REAR
narrow MLP
1 B camber link
stock anti squat
stock toe block
1.5* camber
bones just above level

REAR SHOCKS
ACD white spring
drilled 3 hole piston 57
losi 17.5 wt oil
bladder down
no limiters inside
one small limiter and extra o ring outside
long shock ends
middle on arm
2nd hole out from inside on tower

1 oz of lead at the front of the battery box (1/2 oz on either side)
Academy wing with 1/4" wicker bill
lunsford titanium ballstuds and links
Academy Edge front tire w stock foam
Academy Fusion rear tire w Bomb 1 foam

Novak GTX esc
Futaba S9451 servo
Fantom Team Stock motor
gearing 78/22

RFI 25c 4000 lipo

The car had tons of steering but was very predictable. It also jumped very well. I was able to power through corners with confidence that the car had been pushing in before I made these changes.

Ran with my new setup at Farmers Raceway today for a club race and took the A main win. I am loving my GV2 more than ever. This setup is really working great for me. Next weekend it is off to Coral Springs for the J Concepts Super Cup round 2, should be a great time and some very competitive racing action.

good stuff. Do you feel this setup could work on a variety of conditions? thinking of putting it on for a a cold weather track, and even some indoor running.

I think it is worth a shot, I imagine for a high grip indoor type condition the car will be super responsive with this setup. The conditions I am currently running this setup on are more slick and dry, but I am so stoked with the overall feel of the car right now, I wouldn't hesitate to try it anywhere.

So over the last few weeks my GV2 had been developing a push. I would make a change (more weight in the front, different tires, addition of a front wing), and every time the car would push just the same. The current layout at out track has the strait as the furthest lane from the drivers stand going left to right. At the end of the strait is a right hand sweeper that goes from the furthest lane to the lane closest to the drivers stand. Over the last couple weeks i would notice the inside front tire wobling back and forth through that corner. I figured it was because the front end was making more traction because of the changes I was making, but after all the changes the car was handling the same. Looking back now (hindsight is always 20/20) I could see that the front end was making more traction, but it wasn't transfering that to the car to help it steer better. Something definately was afoul. So this last Thursday I was getting a little practice in before racing started and all of a sudden my car started to act really funny. With the front wheels off the ground the steering was fine. As soon as I set the car down the steering wouldn't center or go to the stops. I could turn the wheels grab them and move them back and forth about an inch! So I took the car back to the pits. I figured the ballstud on the servo was loose. I was wrong, the servo saver had been working itself loose for the past few weeks, every change I made to get more steering was negated by the fact that the servo saver was flexing so much. So I tightened the servo and put the car back on the track for a quick go. Wow talk about steering, I had to take 1oz. of lead out of the front and get rid of the front wing. After that my car was dialed.

yeah, the backing out of the servo saver is more pronounced I found on the STR4 Pro II. few times that happened to me so I eventually used some loctite.

so anything new anyone?

couple of months left here to go before can start some offroad practicing. Though, there is a tracking opening up about 1 hr away that is looking to do offroad on carpet over jumps.

And we should soon see the PSI Racing mid motor conversions available.

took a look at the bfast stuff. Very nice. I would suprised how much more flatter the surface is than the stock stuff.

I'll get some pics when I have a chance.

The only news I have is that amainhobbies.com has got rid of their carpet track and are putting in an off-road track! They are about 45 minutes from my house. The dirt they are using is this really dark dirt they got from a rice field. The guys that are building the track say it is like modeling clay when wet. Everyone around here is starting to make slicks in anticipation of all the traction.
