Thanks. It seems a few people have had their V2 run at 6.0v, but I wasn't certain about the V3.

what speed does your gearing produce? i'm geared 16/46 and it's about 35ish. i just installed a 17t pinion but haven't got a chance to radar it yet. also, what kind of mah/min are you getting on 4s in what conditions/size track? thanks in advance.

I have not radar'd but it is the fastest thing I have seen at the track! Every bit of 45mph top speed with this gearing. As far as mAh/min I do not have a data logger but was getting about 20-min runtime on a 5000mAh pack and would put nearly 4000mAh back into the pack each charge. This was with the default 12V cut-off from the MMM. I was advised to use a 13.4V custom setting and would say that my runtime is closer to 15-min now on a medium sized, moderately technical track. I hope this helps . . .

Try this for an actual representation of speed

Yeah, the Neu is a remarkably efficient motor. I use Maxamps LiPos which are nothing to sneeze at IMHO. Lastly, I never have raced Nitro--only electric so I tend to be fairly smooth with the trigger finger. I guess a good motor, batts, and a smooth approach to driving will probably get you decent run times.

I might start to dial down the EPA in 10% increments since I do not need all that top-end. I hear that is supposed to help with efficiency but have yet to try it. Cheers!

Default RC8 with E-converison kit

I just raced my RC8 with the AE E-Conversion kit with a Novak Hv Speedo and a Novak 7.5 motor, 2 Orion 5000 2s lipo packs. The problem I'am having is the speedo would thermal on me at about 6 min into my run I cut the front windshield out of the body, installed the fan on the ESC, turned the timing down on the motor and the car still shut down 8 min into an 10 min main that I was leading even after a battery change I will try gearing down the next time I race, Because I think that was the problem with the over heating, but what I wanted to know from the forum Commuinty was if anyone else has had the same problem with the Novak ESC. With the two 5000 packs I thought for sure I would get 10 to 12 min of run time easy. I love 1/8 electric I think it could save off-road eletric racing

I have yet to see a competitive novak HV setup that would last longer than 7 or 8 minutes...the esc just can't handle it. Some have used the tekin RS with the novak motors with success.

Default newbie question

Hello,

I have a quick battery question for you guys...is it better or worse to go with 2 2s 5000 Orion lipos wired in series or 1 4s 5000 lipo as far as weight or runtime is concerned? I'm new to 1/8 BL and I'm converting my truggy...sorry for the dumb question . Thanks for your help!

I also ran the Novak system. Ran it 3 times - first time took it easy as I sorted out my setup; second time blew the cap, replaced with bigger Novak cap; 3rd time ESC thermal reset. Done.

Put the MMMv3 w/2650 (buggy) and wow!!! Now I can focus on having fun!
