Stick with a groovy in a firmer compound or match the front to the rear choice?

Thanks

2wd mod buggy (4.2)

Paul:

I grabbed a pair of V1 Bar Codes in blue for both the front and rear. Also ordered a rear 3d in Orange for hot days when the track isn't so abrasive (the calcium washes out). Anything else I need?

What DD's doe I run in the S Fl mid-day runs if the track has moisture?

Any eta on when dirtwebs will be readily available for the rest of us?

We have had at least 4 different shipments come in and go out to dist, dealers, and direct in the last month.

Unfortunately racing in Florida and especially south FL during the summer is extremely aggressive on tires. Just about every tire that performs well is going to wear very quickly (2 to 3 runs max). We don't run them very often, but Hybrids are probably the best wearing tires for the rear. That might be a great option in blue compound.

Yes; it will be months before anything production is available. My guess is the wheels will happen first and then the tires. The cool thing is the current tires are easily converted by cutting the bead off. So essentially you can have 1 tire and run whichever wheel setup works best for your track ;).

Thanks!!!!
And in that case can I put in a request for jc to make a hex Rulux wheel??

I have a set of bar codes. I run on an indoor clay track. When the track is wet, after the misters come on, after the track is watered and we wait 20 minutes, the bar codes are like driving on ice. They slip and slide like crazy. Yet, after 10 minutes after the misters, they start to hook up again. Then about 45 minutes after they water the track they start to grab again.

I have tried 3 different sauces, but they have not really helped all that much.

They just changed the track where I drive and man o man, I could not get around a corner without sliding and spinning. It was real bad. The track seemed to be wetter then it was before the change.

Any idea's on how to get them to stick?

Is there another tire that would work?

Brothers Ions seemed to work well with the wetter conditions, but did not work as well with the drier track.

Buzz.

I'm guessing you are running Gold compound? Sounds like smaller pin tire (Ion) is good in the wet condition and the bigger pin (Bar Code) is better in the dry? Have you tried a worn out Bar Code when its wet; ghost-pin or slick?

I would think our Gold Dirt Web should be really good.

does anyone know where I can get the little screws that go into the J concepts 12mm hex. mine are kind of getting stripped out..thanks

2mm x 6mm will go in a little deeper. I think that is what I have used in the past to make it work/last longer

Yes; the current hexes now come with 2mm x 6mm screws. You could check a local hardware store or most hobby shops carry them in their fastener section. Most shops that sell plane stuff will have DuBro screws and they have all the sizes.

Congratulations for JConcepts new Dirt Webs.

IMO

They are the biggest improvement in tires made in many years.

With the competition bringing their new shoes to the market these Dirt Webs are making them go back to the development dept.

kudos to BK and his latest efforts.:)

If your running sdrc you need a soft tire, golds are to hard and I've never got them to work out there,i use ions in soft only because i can't get a hold of any dirt webs yet. Ive used sticky kicks and something else i can't disclose for tire sauce and the tires were hooked up,i would get some soft dirt webs when they come out
