For the black CRC carpet, which slick tire/compound works for 2wd buggy?

Need narrow front to avoid traction rolling. We grind down old pink compound pin tires and use SXT 3.0 on them. I have fuzzbites in pink ground down to slicks on front and rear.

From what I have heard clay compounds are best for carpet slick racing so something like silver smoothie 2s, I used them on my stadium truck on non-crc black carpet and they gripped pretty well and weren't far off the actual carpet pin tires on that surface. Not sure how the smoothie 3 gold compounds would compare though

how is the traction of black crc carpet versus the old style grey stuff?

At a track that ran a non-carpet tire rule on the grey stuff it was common at times to use gold compound clay tires or something that i think from another brand would have been like a blue? As they just didn't want the harder pin carpet tires, some of us even used the old jconcepts flipouts and just tuned around them. clay compound stuff we used SXT 3.0 as that was pretty much the standard and they eventually limited saucing to that.

I have a set of Smoothy 3s in blue compound mounted, I'll get another set Smoothy 3s in G2 compound.

Does anyone know what size screw this is and/or where I can buy one? Mine fell out

Should be a 4x8mm BH...you should be able to get one at a Ace Hardware or any hardware store that carries metric screws.

What's the internal drive ratio for the Reactor?

Unfortunately, I don't know  Maybe try contacting us/JConcepts directly and they can try and help.

Wondering the same. Also 2.2 rips and goovys. Vintage is booming but we need ribbed fronts.

Reactor 13” kit eta? Been out of stock for a while now, thanks.

savage24x 06-02-2026 04:53 PM

Will A3 compound ever come back for reflex 1/8 buggy? It’s definitely the ticket for shorter electric mains. I run A2 on longer nitro mains, but it’s too hard for the shorter mains.

Sorry guys, but I was attending the ONS and then got sick when I got back. We did get some of those tires in stock and they were at the event with us, so not sure if they already went back into inventory or already shipped to dealers.

Reactor kits are on the way, but I don't have an ETA.

Unfortunately I don't know the status of A3. It's been a very slow seller, so they might be phasing it out :(
