+1. Eventually you'll just look at/ feel the track and know what tires to throw on without even putting a car down.

The fast guys complain about not having enought traction until the main. Keep in mind it is an outdoor track where conditions change from heat to heat. What is why I am looking of a tire that is better in mixed conditions than 2 D's, which is what the "fast" guys run. I took a small cell phone vdeo of the track during practice. Not water and no sweeping, so not sure how helpful. But here it is.

I would say green 3D's (rear) and green Rips (front). Nothing is going to be magic on that sandy surface, so keep that in mind.

What is the real world usage of the JC tire compounds actually good for? I can read their website like anyone else, lol. But i see people using Green on everything thing from dusty, to wet, to indoor groove. In fact if you look on the for sale forums almost everything is green compound. JC says that blue is the all round use compound, but it seems like the racers use green for everything.

My new go to tire for loamy tracks on my 2 wheel buggy are green dd's in the front, I cut them rather narrow leaving only 7 lugs across. They've been great so far, something for jconcepts to consider producing.

I run blues when the track surface is hot or moist, but greens usually work best.

Well, I am in southern Arizona and summer racing can be 100+ easy mode, lol. Lol, high 90's even after the sun is down. So green is really the over all best compound "most" of the time?

For the summer I run blues for the hotter temps. The green seems to slippery when is over 100. For the rest of the year I run greens.

Your from Phx. It is 100+ degrees 90% of the year.

Here in the Southeast, we use greens when its cooler and the track has some moisture. When the temps go up and the track begins to groove, the blue barcodes comeout. Barcodes, Hybrids and 3D's are the primary tires with Rips or Groovy's in the front. They were using Orange barcodes at the HRH Shootout when it was upper 90's and the track was forming a groove.

Wildcat1971 07-26-2012 02:49 PM

cool and wet = green hot and grooved = blue. got it.

I was thinking of getting rips. How do groovies and rips differ?

You talking about these compounds working for all their tires or just a specific one like barcodes?

Wildcat1971 07-26-2012 03:51 PM

3Ds and 2Ds

sinister129 07-26-2012 03:52 PM

Ah, ok.

sinister129 07-26-2012 03:57 PM

Would Green Barcodes work on half clay and half dirt track thats medium traction?
