TONS of info on the X5 can be found at www.4wdrc.com If you look hard enough through the forums, you can find some good comparison info on the X5 to other buggies. Also, there is some threads on fitting a brushless motor and esc in the chassis, I know people have had success.

AS mentioned earlyer....Part's availability is the biggest part...you'd prob. be better off with the BJ4,ZX5,X-5..... Like I listed before I prefer my BJ4 and X10 ..... but the new Yok. is worth a look too... might be my next buy... Never really had any durability prob. with any ...no more then the usual things. but those are just my preferance.... I really like the ZX5 but I have enough right now so I'm selling it.... The X-5 is what I've heard a hot car ...but I'm just not into the Battery layout....but thats just me... All in all I don't think you can go wrong with any....mainly just see what you're LHS has/stock's or can easly get if you don't want to order the parts yourself..... Just my .02

I have raced a XXX-4 and currently race a ZX-5. The ZX-5 handles very well and is easy to setup and work on. There are a few parts which need to be replaced to make it durable enough race with confidence. There is enough aftermarket stuff (aluminum and CF) to make it pretty bullet-proof. It gets my vote, but I have no experience with the BJ-4.
I race against XXX-4's, X-5's, XX-4's, and an SB-Pro, mainly on large outdoor tracks. The XX4 and X-5 share front suspension, so they both seem to have trouble finishing races without snapping a front arm. Also, some of the X-5 drivers have trouble getting their belts to not skip under accelleration. When they do finish, they are hard to beat. The XXX-4 is probably the most durable of the bunch, though I haven't seen the SB-Pro have many DNF's due to breaking. The trick with the XXX-4 is to not double up the shock towers. Lots of people do, but then they run the risk of breaking the chassis.

I would recomend the MRC SB pro carbon Ive been driving it for almost a year and its a great car. As for the new second version I would wait for the carbon version. Im running it with a 11t cobalt and its very controlable at speed. Durability wise Ive only had one problem I broke the shock piston and diff outrive but that was only because I hit a tree at top speed. Price wise you get alot more than you pay for with it. Parts availability is excilent not many shops cary parts but you order direct from them and it only takes about two days for shipping

I've only seen one run once at SoCal, and that was another one of my buddies... I haven't had the chance to drive it...
Just curious, but have you ever raced your SB?

Yeah , but Im on the other side of the country. I dont get to race that often because I work 7 days a week but I do take some time off to race

I think I'm going to save up and get a BJ4.
There seem to be an immense amount of pluses to the car, and one, or even no, negatives. Only negative I hear is the arms break, but they have new arms out now, and I could also get aluminum arms if needed. Also that traction roll thing, but I spent years driving 4wd nitro onroad, that's all those things (or atleast the car I owned) know how to do is roll, so I'm used to it. Otherwise, it sounds as if the car is perfect right out of the box.
Take a look at this BJ4 with a Novak brushless. That's just pure beauty in simplicity.

Umm, not really. The BJ4 worlds is 475. The Yok is 630. The Pred is 580. The x-5 is 500. The only one that is cheaper is the zx-5 at 350. Most everyone that seriously races agrees that the XXX-4, XX-4, an SB aren't really even options.
Personally, I'd rather pay the extra 125 and get a carbon fibre and aluminum vehicle from an american company instead of a plastic one from asia.
That leaves the BJ4, in my views atleast.
If Xfactory lowered it's price by 100, then I'd get one, but right now it appears the BJ4 is a better vehicle for a lower price. Xfactory is charging full retail for the Losi parts in their kit.
Personally, I'd rather pay the extra 125 and get a carbon fibre and aluminum vehicle from an american company instead of a plastic one from asia.
That leaves the BJ4, in my views atleast.
